There are few artists that can depict feeling of hopelessness, confusion, sorrow and sense of things passing as this great man. Thank you, Robert, it helps me deal with my own mess

Probably the best song in their entire catalogue, it's a shame they never play it live (too long, and very hard to play especially for Simon)

He still goods today, but to me, this is his absolute prime vocally.

2002 Berlin Tempodrom! So great! But "Songs of a lost world" would have fit perfectly into the "trilogy" (maybe even better than 'Bloodflowers')!

Take Robert Smith out of this song and it is not a masterpiece, in my subjective opinion. This song sits in my top hundred The Cure songs. Where? There are too many top songs and you would be a fool to start numbering them...just enjoy a musical godsend.

I'm here after that 3-hour show they streamed last month. I was 17 when Disintegration came out, loved it to death, yet failed to appreciate this song. Been listening nearly-constantly to this one song when online the last couple of days. Maybe 30 listens. It's like that thing you see in a dream that signaled to you that you missed everything you were looking at the entire time...

@@DannyW-uz5kl One of the weirdest parts about The Cure is how so little is known about them and yet they are still huge. When I was about 16 back in the early 80's I stumbled across a cassette tape on the pavement. One side had Fun Boy 3 and the other The Cure's Seventeen Seconds album. It was that day I got hooked on The Cure and yet it is still not my favourite band, I simply have many...

The very first time I listened to Disintegration, I was 13. This song, along with Pictures of you, was one of my immediate favorites from the album. This 2002 rendition, emotionally speaking, is just as strong as on the album. Forever one of their most beautiful and sad.

They were with me during the good times - "I will always love you." And with me when I realized that something might be off - "Until you spoke And showed me understanding is a dream." They were there for the brief reconciliation - "I promise that I'll run away with you." And then acceptance - "And both of us knew how the end always is." And even in those very dark, self-destructive moments, it was comforting that someone else seemed to understand - "It's always the same. Wake up in the rain. Head in pain. Hung in shame. A different name. Same old game. Love in vain. And miles, and miles, and miles, and miles, and miles, and miles Away from home again." I started with them in the early 80s. With age I grew apart. But they were my go to music for much of the 80s and into the early 90s. And hearing their music is like reuniting with an old friend. If Disintegration was their best album. "From The Edge Of The Deep Green Sea" (Wish) is my choice for best song. But Disintegration is very close behind.
