I had that exact same Hobie. I went through at least 6 pairs of fins. The Titan looks to me to be laid out much better. The Hobie is great, but the Titan wins in my opinion. I'll be picking one up this year.

So how are you still liking the Native? I am trying to decide between the PA14 and the Native X. I know the PA does well offshore, I'd like to hear how you are liking it since owning it awhile.

You should always open up your tackle boxes and let them air out overnight or paper towel them dry. Just don't leave them where pets can get into them.

Best thing you can do is get one tray with all the holes in it. I think they are called hydroflow or something. They allow your lures to dry. I will take one out with me to throw lures that I used in it.

Do the kastking or plaino allow hooks to jump sections? I have the basic plastic plaino ones that came in my tackle bag but I'm looking to get new ones that are waterproof but I hate to put them vertically because of the fact that hooks jump sections and then im dealing with a tangled mess and hooks in wrong sections

Two things to consider. The Hobie fin drive is far superior to the propeller drive and with the Native, you can expect to have two inches of water in your cockpit at all times.

hey it looks like you should move your seat forward just a little bit you should not be 100% extended while you are pedaling. You should have just a little bend in the knees. Its a personal thing you might just like it like that and if you do keep it. But when you are pedaling you can see that you are reaching. Just my opinion though so you do you. I have a Wilderness Systems Radar and just decided to start saving for that Titan so I appreciate the inspiration.

Could I hear your experience about two points: 1. What's it been like lowering the wheels as you're about to come into shore? 2. With the wheels down vertically they're still well behind the center of gravity. How front heavy is wheeling the kayak around, such as pulling up a boat ramp?

Nucanoe with xi3 is the way to go IMO. I had a Titan 10.5 and made the switch to the unlimited last year. Having a fully open deck with no pedals in the way is so nice. If you plan to motorize especially with an xi3 Nucanoe has both Hobie and native beat IMO

I don't see much different from each other 🧐 I got both. I've had lure from the 80's with no rust 🤔 love the Desert N.M. can't even find rust on car's. So old car are perfect to rebuild and there's a bunch of old trucks and cars everywhere just not in big city because of the nut bags moving into my state.

Crank down the pedal arms really hard. Put more lithium grease in drive. On the inside put goop on rudder line. I have natives for years and great kayaks. When I worked in a kayak shop at a.c.k I saw hobie in our emergency room all the time for cracks and drive etc issues. You can go on yak squad and see where the ideas me and woody Callaway came up with .

Just got my native Titan X 12.5 last week and I think my only complaint so far, is just the rudder handle, I mean it works and sure you can buy a Burley pro metal handle but for a kayak that was almost $4,000 out the door, that stock rudder handle is so cheap feeling compared to everything else on the boat.

It looks like your anchor line just goes over the side of the boat into the trolley. Doesn’t it bind up from the weight pulling down on it? Also how did you mount it, self tapping screws? I want to put one and the same spot but I think I’ll have to run it from opposite side of my trolley through an eye bolt then through trolley

No issues with the anchor trolly. What I do is drill pilot holes that are way smaller than they should be, then I use clear flex seal on my screws. Still no water in my boat.

I'm new to your channel. So you can manage transporting your kayak just by using the bed of your truck? Do you need to tie a red flag on the end? I assume you do not own a trailer. Have you ever loaded two Kayaks in the truck bed? Do they fit? Have you ever seen anybody use the flip over truck bed extender with a kayak?

I've been kayaking for a very long time and I have learned less is better. You roll over in the water you wanna be able to get back in. And if you drag your fish over the side of the boat expect to see sharks. Not kidding

Jeez where's the stereo and speakers. Putting a boat like that on the ocean would be dangerous, Or the simple fact you have tons of tackle and you would be digging in the box is all the time and not paying attention to the swells, I don't believe kayaks are meant to be floating stores.
@donaldblank8873

Everybody has tons of gear, poles, batteries, tackle boxes ,tackle, very unnecessary, never a fish box, tank wells are always full of bags and boxes. Never a gaff holder. The most important thing on a kayak is open space. To move around. Stability. Place to put your fish. And a fat rudder so you can steer when you're on the water.

@@gabrielm.4554 so far no issues with my seat. It’s one of the biggest things I like so far. I like how high I sit and how I am able to rotate around to get things behind me. Came from a PA 12 360 to a titan x 12.5. Hobie is great but there's really no comparison. Never like the H-rails. Too high and you have to buy lots of extras just to mount stuff. Stability is night and day better on the Native.

If I can only have one it would have to be a basic spinning rig, simple and inexpensive. For me it would be my Lew’s Speed Stik 6’7” medium action, with a Shimano Nasci reel spooled with 10lb braid and a 6’ to 12’ fluorocarbon leader. Let’s me throw Ned’s, Senko’s, worms, finesse jigs, chatters and spinners, as well as some small square bills or jerk baits or PopR’s.

Seems way more effort to pedal then the hobie especially if you have distance to cover. I would be curious about weeds in the summer. If you constantly have to clear the prop of weeds it would suck. Maybe keep the hobie for summer and prop for fall and spring.

The pedaling sure looks awkward to me and the seat looks pretty flimsy compared to the Hobie. No skag is a drawback for tracking especially if one puts a stern drive electric motor. That is one loud drive! I do like the instant reverse. Best of luck in your new yak
@basserbestt4063
@basserbestt4063 9 ай бұрын
It’s most definitely a learning curve. I think once a motor is installed it will make a huge difference. Seat is a game changer and not flimsy at all. The only complaint with the seat is I can’t lower it or lock it into place without upgrades.
