This was my first command. Only thing changed was woman were serving on board. We had stowaways in Australia. Thank You STG1 Mo Akita from a fellow STG1 Stanfill. Check the "Bitch log" if it still exsist. I Logged many hours at the Sonar Supervisor and the 50 Caliber Port wing. Thank You guys.

Ive been on this ship when it visited australia in the 80s.. watched the movie Meteor on it .. guys on there were so nice and friendly and we gave them voldka lol..they werent on duty of course, Loved learning about it

Well, I didn't make the film, but I was just off camera for several of these shots. In fact I clearly remember 0:29 when she jumps into muster. I can't remember her name, but I remember laughing about it!

Was on the OLY from 93-95. I was part of the crew that did the trial runs for having women on board destroyers. Never been so nervous in my life. Avoided contact at all cost. 4 weeks of pure craziness. Still became friends with a couple of the Gals though. Guess they decided to go with it. Cool to know I was a part of setting a new standard. RIP OLY Remember shooting Skeet off the fantail. Great times
