One of my favorite tunes, and the first one I learned on the nyckelharpa. However, I've been told that, while this tune is usually referred to as Jämtlands Brudmarsch, it is actually called Jämtlandssången and was based on a brudsmarsch from Jämtland. Jämtlands Brudmarsch is a different tune, which can be found here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/e6q9dKR_qJh5d9E
@klampartown2 ай бұрын
I also really like this song. You are probably right about the titles of the tunes, but it COULD also be that both are called "Brudmarsch från Jämtland" and the one I play is also (more?) known as "Jämtlandssången". I also know the other tune, the one played by Vicki Swan if you follow the link (thanks for that!) you sent.
@RRCDog2 ай бұрын
@@klampartown I've also learned that many Swedish tunes have more than one name, and that many different tunes have the same name, so that can get confusing! After all, I'm sure that there are several different bridal marches from Jämtland for example, and they can all be correctly called Jämtlands Brudmarsch.

@klampartown Жыл бұрын
Here is the translation of the description above. So glad you like the song! Inge Henriksson, Riksspelman. From him I have learned and received permission to publish my version of the song "Jularboliken". Here's what Inge says about the song: "Here I play "Jularboliken". The waltz is composed by the violinist Axel Pettersson (1881-1967, Långmon in Bladåker Uppland). I have the waltz after a recording where Grop-Gustaf and Axel played it together. The waltz got its name when I played it for Nisse Nordström for the first time. Nisse said: "It doesn't sound like Grop-Gustaf, it sounds more like Calle Jularbo." I think that the song is so happy, catchy and fancy that I immediately fell for it and for Inge's fine performance.

Can you help me? It's Lynette again. I've made a list of tunes that seem to be not too difficult to start playing on nyckel. However I have a very good musical memory but hmy head is full of tunes but I get the titles, names of pieces, mixed up! So I must find the scores of the tunes to help me remember which is which! How do I find the scores for Karolinamarsch, Hommage till en Spelmans and Lat till far? Where does everyone find them? The scores would be much easier and practical than me listening to them and writing down the notes. I've found Skalarna on Eléonore Billly's site and Trollpolska on site of Swiss group Smorgasklickarna. But as I only have a mobile, not a computer, it all takes time. And what's more not much network where I live! Thanks for any help you can give!

I'm not att home right now, I'll lock closer later if this does not help: try to look for "låt till far". I guess YOU don't have an "å" but I found the tune also when I wrote "lat till far". Then try "karolinermarsch" and "hommage till en spelman". Any success?

@@klampartown Thankyou but I can find the ,"tunes" on videos but it usually takes a long time. Going to listen to it e few times so that it will find me easily, and not too difficult, I can put it on my "not too hard list" of pieces to try, only had a nyckel for 2 months. Made by our very good maker at Mirecourt, Vosges, north east France, Jean Claude Condi, he's made them since 1980s, and even some well known Swedish players have one of his! Now there are maybe nearly 500 Nyckelplayers in France.
