These days, everyone is talking about learning AI and how it's the future, but nobody really talks about what AI actually is or how to get started-especially for those who are already working in a specific field. Take my example: I am currently working as a Senior Network Engineer. If I want to get into AI, should I start from the basics, such as machine learning and other fundamental concepts? Or is there a different approach tailored to my domain? What I mean is, when it comes to learning AI, is there a common roadmap that applies to everyone, or does it vary based on one's current field of expertise? If it's domain-specific, where should I start so that I can align myself with the ongoing AI revolution and stay competitive in my career?

On a funny note, based on the last point on spirituality becomes important, all babas have a good future if they have strong fundamentals.

Mat aa bhai aur bahut saare options hain jo bahut better hain aur CS ka time ja chuka hai already itna competition hai.Layoffs hi dekh le 2022 se lekar 2025 main bhi chal rahe hain.Pehle hi itna competition hai aur itne experienced log baithe hain aur har saal itne log graduate ho rahe hain aur hote hain

why IT? What other options have you explored? What IT skills do you currently have - it's very tough to start now.

This generation has lot of options to explore. While back in 90s or nearly 2k10 we had only 2 options "Engineering" and "MBBS"-Obviously unable to afford. So only professional course left is Engineering in whole world😊

True that! However, I feel that the more the options - the more confused is this generation.

There's also a challenge of breadth vs depth. You are expected to learn various different tools and technologies but also need to know the nitty gritty and come up with examples of complex problem solving. It's just too big an ask. Nobody retains that much information. How do you balance that?
@savinderpuri

Yes, talking a good interview is also a rare skill. Remembering stuff is not equal to knowing it. For any role that I take interview, I focus on fundamentals first. Then, check depth of knowledge. Then attitude. If these three are in place, the person can learn anything. Quick.

One of the fundamental problems with interviewers today is that they expect you to know how to narrate everything which is impossible. For example, if I ask a question "Describe how to attach a pdf file to gmail and send it to 10 people" would you be able to tell word-for-word, that too in an interview where you are also expected to sit straight, maintain eye-contact, talk in pure English and maintain a respectful decorum? Interview questions like that are non-sense and you can't judge whether a person knows something or not by their ability to answer questions
@savinderpuri
@savinderpuri 5 күн бұрын
Yes, taking good interviews is a rare skill. That's not in your control. Giving good interviews is also a rare skill. That's in your control (almost). With practice and learning new skills, this art can be mastered.

what suggestion are you looking for? 1. Why change now? 2. What's been your core tech expertise? 3. What your next interest? How have you explored it? 4. You cannot start from scratch after 15 years - how do you plan to leverage this experience?
