How old were your kids? We are trying to decide if we should attempt it with ours. Ours are 5 and 8. We’d appreciate any advice as there isn’t much out there concerning kids.

In this video, the kids were 7. That is probably the youngest that should attempt it. The two biggest factors are reach and stamina. They must be able to have a reach of 62 inches so they unclip the tethers. The next is stamina. It is about 3-4 hours of hiking and climbing. There are early exit points if needed. Another piece to consider is that kids will need to be belayed. The tethers used to absorb the shock of an accidental fall does not fully function with lighter-weight kids. If the concept of belaying is unfamiliar, then I would recommend Basecamp in Ouray as a guide. They will make sure the kids have a good and safe time!

Love it!!! One of the canyons in Arches I still need to get in and do. The kids have it down well, it's so awesome seeing the youngens getting into it and having a good time at. Keep on getting them out!
