The Blasters brought a lot of joy and inspiration to so many of us. I look at Phil and see a man whose health is failing but who's soul and spirit still wants to sing, still wants to give. That takes guts. I know the reality of aging in a society that prioritizes youth and beauty in the music business. I applaud Phil Alvin for standing on that stage and not being intimidated, not just taking the easy way out, and sitting at home. That's what a part of our society wants him to do. Phil will make that decision when he's ready.❤

It's funny he says this stuff when during a concert he got into or almost into a fight with someone at a social distortion concert with someone who was wearing a shirt he didn't like. Always remember you want respect you have to give respect. I've always liked social distortion but makes me think hypocrisy

Timeless . . . loved those Friday night shows at the Palace on Vine. Opened with Los Lobos for an hour and a half and bring out the Downey Boys with a horn line of Allen and Berlin and Taylor on the keys. After a couple more hours, Garfield High's finest would come back out for another 4 or 5 song jam. Hot damn, LA used to ROCK!
