I looked for the newest video you have on the 18G. I have a question on my 20G, which is a 1989 model. I am trying to solve a backfiring issue, when I throttle down. I try to throttle down, PTO disengaged, and it regularly backfires through the carb, at that time. I don't know if it's set too lean on the low speed idle jet, and then backfires at the transition point of the high/low jets, or, there's fuel starvation due to a weak fuel pump. Also, I believe there's a lack of power when the 60" mower deck is engaged, which may also indicate a weak fuel pump, and/or governor is set at too low at full throttle. Any ideas?

@powrguy1696Ай бұрын
@@DKTractors It runs fine without load, that's why I suspect fuel. I've not messed with the ignition, though. My 16G purrs like a kitten, and as I recall, on the M18S engines, the timing is minmally adjustable with the coil mount holes being very short throws. I haven't pulled the heads to check valves, either, on the 20G.

Not everyone’s will knobs will adjust the same so you should actually go by the flame and you should always have a little oxygen on so gas doesn’t get sucked back up the line with fire especially when turning it off,gas first then oxygen but people should look up to see what flame is needed for what use then they know and don’t go by adjustments that will vary for each unit.

@@barrykilts4506 agree but the emphasis is on having a mark on the knobs to know how much it is opened, not necessarily on the number of turns.
@blakevernon97782 ай бұрын
If a new device has knobs and controls, turn em’ to see what they do! Round dial with a + and - symbols are for more resistance to force teeth to grip wire tighter. Blue plastic stop actually moves left and right to provide a stop for multiple same length of wire cuts.

Thanks for the video. I'm working on disassembling gear reduction wheels for my Gravely. Just wondering how to undo the center spindle bolt. Did you have to take off the metal puck on the wheel side of the hub (the one with 4 bolts) to be able to undo the center bolt and separate the two halves... Just on the off chance you are looking 5 years later :)

I looked into it. The metal knob on the left is there to adjust the amount of tension that the cutter jaw on the right comes down with. The blue thingy underneath is just a depth stop adjustment if you want to pre-set a particular cut/strip depth and be able to repeatedly replicate it quickly. I think most people don't understand the adjustments, and just assume it's junk, when it doesn't strip at all, or only some of the time, out of the box. You know you have them adjusted correctly when you can do a quick cut/strip without going slow like in the video. These should also be able to open up access to a wire mid run, not at the tip. So you can splice into or from that wire. Though I haven't tested this out personally yet, especially with thicker jackets. These are essentially a copy of the Klein Self Adjusting Wire Strippers. If you're interested, they have a video on how to use them properly.
@BigBear--5 ай бұрын
No one seems to address the two adjustments on the pliers and just claim they're junk out of the box. Are they? Or are people just not using (adjusting) them correctly? Also, just FYI, HF does sell a set made by Doyle for a few bucks more, that is similar to the other set shown in this video.
