why the little DND thinks it has any pull compared to magic and monopoly. no one cares about what home brew rules you sit in a circle talking about. DND isn't even a real game... right? its like about 1/2 naked cosplayers.?..

I very much enjoyed playing Ryuutama, and *big thanks* to Joe for running it!! Since I couldn't join the talk session I typed out my thoughts here. Character creation - I made my own character, and found it to be very straightforward. I started with the pre-made farmer sheet and then adapted with things I found interesting as I read through the book. It was very helpful that the book had an example filled out character sheet. Rules- fully agree that while they were fairly light, they were quality. The explanation for how Skills worked made sense, the difficulty chart for the GM was very helpful, and I enjoyed the customization possible for unique situations. A note on the condition rolls and travel rolls - losing half hp was not the only option for a poor condition roll. A die could be downgraded for the day, or a condition like poisoned or injured could have been applied. There were other options available. And since my character had abilities and spells to help cure conditions, I would have liked to explore those further. I think the travel rolls would have been less... dry? I'm not sure what word to use here... if there had been a little space for us talking in character in those moments, or more description of the environment and weather to interact with. There are some lovely little example texts in the book for that. That said, not everyone *wants* to run or play a travel based game. And for those people, I'd say Ryuutama is probably not the right system for them. Flavor wise I adored this game. The monsters were quirky and fun. The social interaction pieces were there. The detailed items with boosts to certain weather or terrain types made me want to play more! I love a good "collect the stuff" kind of game, and Ryuutama feels well suited to that. A video game with better social interaction ability. My overall ratings - as a one shot I'd go a little higher than the consensus and say a 6 - I think it has potential with a few tweaks! And I agree that for a longer campaign this would be lovely. I'd go 8 or 9. It was a delightful time and I enjoyed playing with all of you!

I haven't heard him say anything about actually wanting to buy it. WoTC ran it's mouth Elon ran his mouth and somebody said "What are going to do buy Hasbro?" To which Elon replies, "How much is it?" And that's why I've said from the get go he's not going to buy Hasbro.

I dont see him ever actually trying to buy Hasbro, like we said in the video, he didnt actually want to buy twitter and tried to back out on it, he only purchased because he was forced to through specific performance as a remedy for breach of contract. He likes to run his mouth though and this is just a classic example of him doing just that.

Thanks for sharing this game. I have been a huge fan of Nightbane since it first released (I had a copy of the original Nightspawn book). I miss playing. Two questions: 1) what program are you using for the dice rolling? 2) are you still running Nightbane?

We are playing in foundry I am using the basic role playing module for it, and I imported the character sheets into the players journals. We are still playing and the next episode is coming up next friday the 13th

I haven't seen the rest of the series so this might get fixed, but the Bonds stuff is wrong. You can have bonds to up to six targets, and each of those targets can have up to three bonds: one each of the pairs admiration/inferiority, loyalty/mistrust, and affection/hatred. Looks like it has potential though, will be interesting to see the rest.

Yes! I have a series planned that is going to introduce each of the major factions from the main book at minimum, The game is on going and the next session is scheduled for the 18th where the players are going to meet with the Railroad. We will be playing/recording every 2 weeks on the Ronin's Den Discord Server which there is a link to in the LinkTree. We record at 5:30pm ish PST. Thank you for watching =)

I have run and played almost all the 2D20 settings each has been built to fit the aesthetic of the setting. Achtung Cthulhu 2D20 is my favourite so far but yhats a pulp horror action game. Conan 2D2 is also fun a leans heavily into the Robert E Howard stories as opposed to the films. John carter 2d20 was a bit of a missed opportunity but i think it was an early version of the 2d20 mechanic. Star trek 2D20 was very eell made but unfortunately the one time i played the was three trek fans at the table sndcwere constantly correcting the GM of lore. Fallout 2D20 is brilliant it takes the fallout 4 stile and runs with it i eill be starting a New campaign for a bunch of very new players in the coming months

What bothers me (Eric) about this is DnD was my first game, I used to love it, and I still want to enjoy playing it, but with the companies that own it doing such scumbag things I just can't bring myself to promote or play it anymore, especially when there are games like The Legends of Kralis and Fabula Ultima out there, both are on the opposite sides of the crunch spectrum, and but scratch TTRPG gaming itches I get.

The hardback books are the same price as 2014. Which is $10 each less than the recent pf2 Remastered books, which have substantially fewer updates and improvements. Books are expensive to produce due to cost increases. I think my subscription is a good value. Play the way you want, but i am satisfied with the value i am getting.
