Turkey , 1918-22. Enver's Army of Islam, fighting to unite all muslims in the middle east and the caucasus and their eventual destruction by the red army in the caucasus, would make an excellent presentation. a crusade off in the wrong direction at a very ill-judged time for Turkey.

Hey James not a problem :) KZbin are making a big thing about having a ‘Podcasts’ section now. Most of these videos automatically generate when I upload to my podcast feed, but Podbean uploads a pretty lo-fi version to KZbin. I figured why not grab one of their videos and overlay the podcast file onto the narration? It took maybe 15 minutes? Moving forwards I’ll send the Podbean video out as private, download that to my tablet… then Reupload as a public video. Should have something new dropping Friday.

@@talesofhistoryandimagination This thing brought tears when I saw it, this young man just wanted to take his girlfriend out to be around like minded people enjoying music and he never came back home. I can still see the knife jam up against his head, I've seen many things but this was so so auful. I only saw this a few days ago because there a program on TV about the Stones and this clip was very heartbreaking indeed 😡

This concert was an example of disorganization, greed, stupidity, and what happens when you take shortcuts. If real security was hired and a real barricade was put up this would have a different ending. Also the stage should have been higher too. Rock Scully and Sam Cutler had no idea what they were doing. Sam Cutler was an ignorant manager too. Poor Meredith Hunter. He just wanted to see the Stones but was murdered that night.

@@talesofhistoryandimagination I also found out it was the San Jose chapter that caused a good part of the violence. They had their prospects beating on people. A couple of them picked a fight with Funches who was the black guy with the purple tye dye. He was the security for the stones and head of the road crew. He broke his hand which is why you see him with a splint on his arm later. He was a champion boxer in the Navy. The Hells Angels left him alone after he knocked those guys out. Also they beat up a couple of other black men that night. So yes, there were hate crimes being committed by the H.A. The San Francisco chapter played nice with the hippies but due to the moving around of the venue, other chapters somehow got involved.
