Super trio. Este buen tema hace lucir todos los atributos de Mike Stern 👏🎸

Does anybody else just start laughing out at loud while listening to this? It might just be a musician thing, but these guys, especially Dennis Chambers, absolutely blow my mind, especially a little after the 4 minute mark. this is just about the highest level musicianship you'll hear

Absolutely. It is mindblowing for sure!

I went to see this band when Dennis had just hit the scene. I remember looking out over the audience, and laughter and stankface was all you could see.

Can anyone tell me what type of chorus pedal Sco was using during this period? Boss? Ibanez? DoD?
@morkus268 жыл бұрын
I'm pretty sure at this point he used the Ibanez CS9, but he's now switched to the JAM Waterfall Chorus. I can see why, it's the best chorus pedal out there.
@Studio-625 ай бұрын
He had a Roland Jazz Chorus amp on stage. Sounds like that chorus. Adrian Belew also used one for all the Crimson stuff.

I saw this trio live: Unbelievable. After the first set, I went outside the club to get a breath of fresh air and think about the unbelievable musicality of Stern and Jeff Andrews over the insane Dave Weckl's grooves. I turned around and there was Mike Stern. Awesome. So I asked him to play his tune 7.30 which is a kinda blues piece. 2nd set a couple of tunes, they played the opening notes and we all said "Yeah!" That's how much I like Mike Stern's Playing and composing. He's the greatest in my books, not least because he transcribes sax solos in his spare time.

+CERI MCCOY Wow Ceri.. that must have been fantastic! Yeah, fantastic trio. I never saw Jeff Andrews. I'd love to see him with Mike! He plays a fantastic bass solo on "Bait Tone Blues". Underrated bass player!!! I bought all Sterns albums and he was the reason I learned to play the guitar. I had a lot more idols over the years but he'll always be the guitarplayer of my heart. Thanks for your great comment Ceri!

All I can say is this: Mike Stern is the greatest and Jeff Andrews is a really great bass player. My favourite solo by Jeff is on "Bruze" from Bob Berg's album "Cycles". Perfect articulation.

He has played the excact same repetitive solo for 15 years, and yet he is revered by some as a phenomenonal soloist. This puzzles me greatly. Bona is a great groove player but a very limited soloist.

Mike Stern has been performing with the best musician on this planet since the early 70s. Before one is critical of him take a moment and see who he has been playing with for 40 + years. The only people he needs to impress are the ones who hire him and he has impressed the best!
