I know I am late to the party, but I own at Bluegreen and I am satisfied over all. I know its not a luxury product but most resorts are pretty nice and I like the point system they have and good customer service. I also live in NC which give me access to so many resorts in driving distance, which allows me to maximize my ownership. The timeshare I would not buy into even though it has the best resale value and is the overall best DVC. I don't want to be limited to only going to Orlando/Disney, or the few resort off property. I personally don't like RCI all that much, Bluegreen offers better programs to travel internationally that I use.

They actually did add a lazy river in the dolphin pool in early 2023. Entire family goes there every July and it has made the place a lot more fun

In the end if you just save the money you would spend on yearly maintenance fees, you’d be ahead. I feel like I finance vacations for more savvy MVC users.

Great tour! My dad and I have been there years ago. Looks like they have done some upgrades.

None of the people that buy these timeshares ever plan to buy them. They go for the three nights stay and the incentive gifts. And plan to say no! I bought a timeshare when on my honeymoon in Maui 22 years ago. I went within the recision period and cancelled the purchase. Thank goodness!

This is exactly the info I was looking for online. I have a Marriott deeded week reservation at my home resort I can't use this year so I had to rent it out. I used the online form to change the primary guest name and agreed to all the terms (just like in your video) and got the confirmation email from Marriott with the new name a few days later. Then a few days later, I got a new email with my name back on the reservation and the renter's name was listed as an additional guest. I called the ownership service to ask and they said the new policy doesn't allow us owners to change the primary guest name anymore..... is this true? does it mean, if they find out I'm renting this week out, when the guest tries to check-in, they can cancel this booking? thank you in advance.

I just booked the Marriott Grande Vista…would you recommend it over Westgate Orlando Villas? It’s about a $300 difference (cheaper)?

Gym memberships are not lifetime. Most things we get and pay for that are not used, are not lifetime, and can be stopped.

Thank you for your details and informative instructions. We just signed their contract to "upgrade" to HGV Max. They offered to transfer our exisiting equity from HGVC to HGV Max for $15,000 and new points. We were told the new MAX membership will let us be eligible to book our stays in new and more club properties in the expanded Max network. It was in Florida and contract stated 10 calendar days after signing the contract (6/23). We will send in the cancellation letter asap hope to cancel the the new upgrade.

It’s not a bad trade with interval either.. I was able to trade my 1 bedroom Westgate vacation villas for 2 bedroom at Marriott Chatau in Vegas and this year I was able to trade for a 2 bedroom at the Marriott timeshare by Disneyland Paris! So excited 😊

Spent 6 weeks there during the Covid fiasco lol so jealous wish I could get the platinum escapes there I’m blocked out because I own at Westgate vacation villas .. which I don’t like much lol 😂 oh you should see the sales room in Las Vegas! They were brutal but it looks like you are on a movie set of Star Wars. I left very confused lol did your villa over look the lake? Those rooms have amazing sunsets!

You must have received some compensation from this company. There is absolutely no reason to ever buy a Westgate timeshare. No value whatsoever.

Thank you for your review on Westgate. We are owners at Westgate Lakes. So much bad information out there. There are people bashing Westgate that have never stayed or attended a presentation. You're about to make a lot of Westgate haters really mad with this video. Great Job!

No thanks, will stick to Marriott/ Sheraton resorts. So many activities & nightly entertainment. I would rather pay a bit more. Westgate has not changed as far as timeshare presentations go which we did years ago. They gathered us all in a room, provided breakfast & if someone bought they would ring a loud bell & announce to everyone so & so just bought....a real turn off as this should be private. They didnt want to let us go...finally my husband just got up & walked away. Even though it was newer the place never gave us that vibe that we would be interested in purchasing. Fell in love with Marriott properties & bought there!!! So glad we did! You definitely get what you pay for.

We have a few Westgate resorts near us in Branson. Every now and then we’ll exchange into one of them because they allow pets (for a fee of course). Quality hasn’t been an issue but, we’ve learned to always book a 2 bedroom, even if we only need a 1 bedroom. Some of their resorts have “one” bedroom units that are only a studio with a door between the couch and bed. That happened to us at our one and only stay at Westgate Town Center many years ago. When I look at Westgate Emerald Point in Branson, the 1 bedroom option says queen or king size bed. The small one bedroom has the queen size bed. I’ve seen similar about the Westgate in Gatlinburg TN. So long as we’ve had a 2 bedroom unit, we’ve really not had much to complain about with Westgate.

You are being too nice about west gate. Few years back we had the nightmare experience. In one night we just wanted to get out of there and give up on any promotion they offered us. I believe we were offered free dinner at one of their property restaurants and 1 day park tickets all we had to do us attend their presentation for $199 for 3 nights at west gate. I told them to charge my credit card for the stay and forget about the other offers. We just wanted to get out quickly. Would you believe that even after the presentation nightmare they still wanted to keep us there longer by not processing our bill. They are the lowest of the low Buyer beware

It does sound like they've mellowed out a bit. I don't do their timeshare tour because my friends did it one time and were gone for 4 hours! LOL. I am not committing 4 hours to a TS tour but for the price I've paid to stay at them with getaways I thought they were decent value for sure. They were dated rooms so glad they are finally getting around to updating things. Definitely beats staying at a cheap Kissimmee motel but if the Getaways or the Accomodation Certificate will pull a Marriott or Vistana instead well I'm going to pick the Marriott or Vistana instead. Orlando has so many nice options and seems this one is nice to know that it's getting better. I feel the same way about Wyndham Cypress Palms. It doesn't get much love either but the rooms are great and the location can't be beat either, right next to Cracker Barrel ! LOL

Just found out that HGVC uses RCI as an exchange option ... I don't pay a fee, I can search and already have a log in since I'm a HGV owner ... I can do weeks or partial weeks, but HGVC is not available through "II". So I think you need a basic video to explain this.

Is this resort more family and couple oriented? Me and a few buddies are looking to stay at a resort. Age range 27-30. Any nightlife at the resort? Anybody?

We've only visited this amazing resort and just booked a stay for next year and cannot wait. It reminds us a lot of AKL. The design is amazing and something that Disney no longer creates sadly.

Just had a sales pitch at canyon villas vacation club. Wasn’t as intense as other ones we’ve been in but had all the standard parts. My biggest issue with the pitch is when they show how the most in demand places can be reserved with 1750-2000 points. Makes it seem achievable but they fail to mention you’ll never be able to reserve one even at some of the highest membership levels. I think it can be a great program but you need to have the flexibility to go wherever and whenever the places are available, not necessarily what you may want.

We r in 261 tower 3 right this second. We like it but the parking lot view not so much.

I attended a timeshare presentation in DFW on 6/16. I was lured in by a free trip to Universal Studios off a raffle I signed up for during a Texas Rangers game last month. The salesmen really did number to convince my wife and I that the "Vacation Days Membership" is a good deal. The presentation stated that the price of the Vacation Membership (timeshare) was $11,885. However, our initial salesman had trouble convincing us to agree to which he called in his "closer". The closer salesman dropped the price for us down to $6,885 off an RCI promotion and a teacher's discount (I think the teacher's discount was just a farce to make her feel good inside). So we thought we were getting a good deal and agreed to purchase. After signing the deal, both the closer and our initial salesman were sitting with us when receiving our contract and escorted us out the door. Hovering us if in case we wanted to back out then and there. That night, I had that feeling in the pit of my stomach to check the contract off the USB stick. I saw the Texas Addendum Right to Cancel off a separate file away from the rest of the contract in a different folder on the USB stick. I knew we had 6 days Rescission period so the deadline is 6/22. I saw this video and can't thank you enough! Sent our Rescission letter via Certified mail with signatures receipt AND Priority Mail with Signature AND just regular First Class Mail. The first 2 should arrive on 6/24 but all Mail was postmarked on 6/18 so technically we should be good. The developer was GEVC (Global Development Corp.) They were advocating using the RCI system. That is interesting! We just stayed at a Sheraton that had a supposedly had a queen bed and it certainly felt smaller than that!
