So do you have to leave the loader control arm repositioned inward with this top due to clearance with the door or can it get moved back after install?
@originaltractorcab8840
@originaltractorcab8840 4 ай бұрын
We would recommend leaving it turned in but you could turn it back if you feel that the door won't be in the way.

This is a great instructional video. Fairly easy to follow. HOWEVER, how about including the instructions for a COMPLETE installation? This video misses the door handles and windshield wiper installations. I'm sorry, but the written instructions are like reading IKEA assembly instructions. Nowhere near the completeness of this video.

Dont know why You didnt make a hinged bracket or even removable for the back panel (like side doors) to make access to the backhoe ...Cab is useless if You have to take it half apart to access the backhoe...

We try to make our cabs to where they can fit through standard garage doors, when you spin the seat around for the backhoe it raises it about 8 inches and would make the cab too tall.

@@originaltractorcab8840 well, here is a tip for your designers hinge the roof at the front to raise up the rear of the roof with holding brackets this way when the roof is in the low position You can still clear a garage door and make the rear window removable like the side doors and raise the roof , so this way when You want to operate the backhoe , You Can ...if you use my idea I want royalities.....lol and how come You did away with the lower crossbar around windshield that You used on the #12078 kit , that crossbar looks much stronger then this set up...

I just installed this top. It's a nice top, but the instructions are hard to follow (wish I found this vid earlier), and the fasteners leave a lot to be desired. I added 2 6mm washers to the front and back of every bolt. It made a nice difference. Also be careful on step 1, installing the loader lever shim - it's super easy to bust the head off one of the OEM bolts. Ask me how I know lol.

Hello, I was wondering if you could share your opinion on what we could change in the instructions for future manuals and revisions.
@joegf1739
@joegf1739 2 жыл бұрын
@@originaltractorcab8840 Sure, would be happy to. Few things that come to mind: 1) More photos (and clearer, & color) are needed. It's very hard to visualize a lengthy set of text instructions. I had to read then re-read many of the steps multiple times before I even knew what step to take next. Then I often found myself a few steps later going, ah-ha, I did that wrong, and re-doing a previous step because I could now see it. It was often difficult to determine where on the tractor things were mounted - mostly because the photos that are in the manual are small, not super clear, and aren't a good perspective; maybe a better photo reference point on the tractor, larger, clear, color photos with arrows, etc. 2) The fasteners should be easier to identify. Yes, they are clearly spelled out in text descriptions, but again, being able to quickly visualize what fastener goes where would have really helped. 3) Finally, that loader lever shim and the fasteners are no good. First off, the OEM fasteners are junk and snap with just a small amount of torque. Second, the shim is super low quality and a bad fit. Lastly, I ended up using my own fasteners with some thread lock. It's OK now but that shim still bugs me. Hope this all helps.

@@joegf1739 Thank you for your reply. Early 2021 I started updating our manuals replacing black and white photos with color photos and trying to replace blurry photos but some of our old manuals are still out there. We are tagging each part with a label number now but we'll try to figure something out with the fasteners. As for the shim, that is something I'll bring up with our engineering department.

@@originaltractorcab8840 The part tags were really great. Sounds good. Let me know if you need a tester for any shim improvements. I may modify modify this one by grinding an angle into it. Originally very happy with this purchase. However I sadly bent the hollow pipe frame and ordered parts twice. First time $18 for parts and $32 in shipping with fedex and the 2nd time needing additional parts for $42 with $28 in shipping. That total of $120 was almost as much as the $195 it cost for that top, which by the way is useless one direction when sun blasts you in the face coming back in a pattern. Very, very disappointed. I should have paid someone to make those parts for me. This is just outrageous!

I bought one from you for my John Deere 1023e which i use to maintain 2 condominium complexes. Lots of snow here in New England. All i can say is literally this is one of the best things i've ever bought. My job can involve upwards of 20 to 25 hours a month plowing in the winter and the first year i did it with no cab. It was horrible, to the point of thinking about quitting. The problem with the traditional cabs were height and cost. I have to store the tractor in a condo residence garage and they just arent high enough. I saw your company on a tractor time with tim video and figured I'd give it a shot, not even sure if this would fit. It most certainly does...with a whole 1/4 inch to spare ! :) Such a difference. Actually i dont even use the doors. I like the outdoors feel of them being off and the big issue was just keeping the snow off me with the roof and windshield. The little heater you provided also adds just enough to it to keep the inside windshield from fogging up. It is VERY comfortable. Even doing yardwork in the spring/summer and fall cleanup its great. Keeps it cooler inside without the sun beating down on me. What can i say except.....THANK YOU. And if anyone is even remotely considering this all i can say is..JUST BUY IT ! :)
