The proper way to torque. Is to retorque the heads and retorque again. Wait about 5 min before you retorque .

Had some 16” apes on my 2019 Road King Special. I went to a Bike dealer who sells metric bikes and asked him if he could do a state inspection for my bike and he told me he couldn’t inspect my bike because it was not stock anymore. My friend was with me and the guy tells him he can’t inspect his bike because it was too loud. This turd just worked at the Kawasaki/Honda Dealership and turned us both away. We both ended up back at the Harley Dealership we both bought our bikes at and they inspected both bikes and didn’t say anything about bars or pipes. All the lights worked fine, brakes were also working fine and the horn worked, that’s about all it took to get a sticker issued. The guy at the metric bike shop was a total dick and probably never been on a Harley let alone been that close to one… I remember him saying when we both pulled up that those bikes are too loud! My bike had slip on pipes, still has the catalytic converter. My buddies bike however had no catalytic converter and was running headers into slip on pipes but still had baffles in it. His was louder than mine because of the headers but by no means is it illegal for inspection. Some people just don’t want to be bothered and that guy claimed he can’t inspect them because they’ve been modified, he had no clue about the Harley Davidson owners and what people do to them after buying it. Made zero sense to me and my friend and I both owned metric bikes before Harley’s and I don’t understand why people hate on Harley’s whenever they see one pull up and ask for help and they run a metric bike shop. I don’t think Harley Davidson dealer would do anything like this to a person who shows up on their Honda and asked for help. Maybe they might out of spite but money is always the same color no matter the person willing to pay for service.

My AC went out too for that reason. I didnt know about that recall. My '18 has had no other issues at 100k miles.

I run a 132 ci in my road glideI would keep your pipe and do a different cam and head work 64 mm intake and throttle body you'll be in the 150 + hp tq. Probably $2000 flash tune from fuel Moto $ 100 it will be pretty close then you will know your riding a 132

Had the problems…. Just the other day … my bike is 2009 street bob and lives it’s life outside.. yea she a working girl .. one thing I did learn trying to solve the problem was to clean all the terminals… especially the main positive going into the starter .. and I changed out all my fuses … thanks to Doc Harley…a overnight charge of the battery and bam .. she’s up and running and actually feels a lot better… Will definitely look into one of these starters though … Good post and just what I need to see..

I used a starter button like this some years ago, my Mechanic took it off while servicing the bike, said it wasn't a good idea to start the motor this way? I'm thinking of putting back on, as to offering a second alt option to starting the bike.

Harley and Indian need to keep their prices high, or else I just own bikes that everyday how can own, and that’s why I own these bikes, because I like having something more expensive and nice. The pricing now also keeps the riff-raffle from riding these bikes and keeps the image good

I rarely ride with other bikes so the 88 has been no problem, even in high speed. But maybe I'm different because back in the day I toured half the country on an 883 Sportster with no problem. The way I look at it if somebody leaves me behind they just did me a favor. I'll just let them disappear into the distance and not even try to find them.

Jar head..my brother. Been riding since 1982 consistantly HD..All cable clutches until 2018. I find the hydraulic clutch smooth, easier than the cables and minus the needed cable adjustments, which if you didnt know exactly how to adjust them and the basket, you had a problem. Ive heard the complaints but never understood the complaints. The hydro is easy to pull and "consistant". No maintenance. I freeking love it since 2018. I know they got rid of it again but i really dont know why....i can feather the clutch in slow speeds n turns with zero issues. I just dont get it why people dont like it. Semper fi brother!
