Looks like fun, but even if we'd had one of those when I was a kid I'd have still preferred gunwale pumping races - racing canoes without paddles, by standing on the gunwales near the back and bouncing up and down to make it go. Our Scoutmaster would put a couple of buoys a hundred yards offshore, and at his "go" we'd push our canoes into the lake, climb on the gunwales, and race out to the buoys, around them, and back to shore (yes, you CAN steer by shifting your balance, similar to riding a bike without hands, but it's tricky if you try to turn too tightly). Gotta admit, though, even at 60 I think I'd like to try that thing at least once.
