Haha, I found it quite special though. The tower-structure was once a 19th century oil factory and this hotel has prestigious names like Michael Malapert for interior design. It looks industrial from the outside but knowing its story, I quite like it.

I just checked but I only got a snap. Anyway, when walked out from the hotel, turn left and go straight for about 2-3 minutes, you will be at Zara Champs-Elysees. Very central location of this hotel.

Set lunch menu at 650AED per person plus wine by the glass so around USD400 for 2 person at the time. Now I just check the lunch menu increases to 750AED so should be around USD450 per two now.

I can’t remember exactly but it is fairly cheap as it was done in an “open area” and not in private rooms. We went pretty early with very few people and the place was pretty clean and no smells at all.

Thanks for watching. Yes, the menu is filling enough. I don’t recall any pork dish but you can always tell them your dietary requirement and they can accommodate. Of course, they have non alcoholic drinks like pop soda, juice, coffee and tea, etc. it can be charged per item. No need to opt for wine or such. Hope this helps.

Agreed St. Regis hardware is a bit tired but the service still good and I like its location too. BTW, I also stayed at St. Regis & W during this trip as well.

It was around USD220 at the time with Amex Platinum but I just checked now is around USD260 per night but inclusions a little different. Now includes USD100 F&B credit, daily breakfast for 2, room upgrade when available and guaranteed 4pm late check out. No more lounge access and spa credit.

Really… we have no issue with air conditioning on this ship. Service was awesome, super professional like any luxury hotels especially our butler. Entertainment so so, we only went when there was special guest performances (like the Lion King one). I will be going on another Silversea soon to South Africa. Soigné is a Michelin 2-star and my opinion is it is a very well polished restaurant. From food presentation, service to food quality. Very balanced to international standards. So if you are looking for a universal gastronomy experience, Soigné is awesome. The only thing is it may lack a little local authenticity in my experience.

@@affordableluxurytravel I get the same impression about local authenticity too. If I'm looking for contemporary Korean cuisine more rooted in Korean flavor profiles, what's a better option (e.g. SOUL Dining, etc.)?

I am personally biased as I love SOUL, more local flavours and couple chefs were cooking and explaining the dishes themselves which I always enjoyed. And for Michelin 2-star, I also love Mingles. Just my personal preferences.

Of course I did. Staying connected for 15 hours was awesome. Wifi speed was fast for emails, social media, web browsing but I did not use it for streaming. Anyway, it is one of the most needed catch-up features for CX to me.

Because at the sushi chef table, each sushi was served one by one over an extensive time, it was not overly filling for this meal. Of course, this restaurant used nice Japanese rice and also the rice portion was just right.

Yes, I rented from Sixt in San Fransisco before too and had no issue. The only thing is Sixt is “always” off-terminal (no concrete check but just based on a few US locations I checked). So if you do not mind, Sixt is always great value for premium cars. Have fun!

@@ryanrojas5257no you don’t have to. Most credits cover insurance as long as you use the credit card to book the rental. Also, if you have premium insurance it should also cover it.

From Silversea website “Guests capacity: 392 · Crew capacity: 302 · Built: 2001 · Last refurbishment: 2024 ·”. I was told Silver Whisper completed its refurbishment in late April or early May 2024. As you can see from my video, the furnitures definitely have a refit. I cannot compare the carpets pattern from before but like a 20-year old Four Seasons, they look decent to me. I also did not spot any plumbing issue or noise from this cruise. So far so good.

No, I have used up the SNA and we paid cash for this reservation. BTW, it was because it was over Labor Day long weekend so the price already high and the incremental to just get this suite made sense.

Absolutely. This is one of the best backdrop for hotels I stayed around US national parks.
