Ephesians 4:13 The greatest desire of Christ is to have Christians become more and more like Christ. A mature Christian is one whose Character emulates that of Christ more and more. God gave the 5-fold for the following reasons; a. To equip His people b. To attain to the unity of faith and knowledge of God. c. To attain the maturity of Christ. Maturity will make us escape the false teachings. If a person falls prey to false teachings, there is a problem in their maturity. SIGNS OF MATURE CHRISTIANS 1. They are secure in their walk with Christ. They know that they have eternal life. 2. They have victory over sin in their lives. Victory is not that sin and temptation does not come but they know how to overcome. 3. They understand the scriptures and they can apply it in their lives. They know the written word and they know how to apply it in their situation. 4. A mature Christian have an effective prayer life. James 5:16. 5. The fruit of the Spirit is evident in their lives The fruit of the Spirit is; ✓ The fruit of the Spirit is a biblical term that describes the 9 attributes of a person living in accord with the Holy Spirit. ✓ The fruit is a specific behavior that are a result of the work of the Holy Spirit in a believer. ✓ The fruit is the results of the Holy Spirit in a believer ✓ Is a direct result of the indwelling of the Holy Spirit at new birth. ✓ The fruit of the Holy Spirit is the outward manifestation of the life that is within you. The fruit is all about character, gifts are all about abilities.

HOW DO SPIRITUALLY MATURE CHRISTIANS LOOK LIKE Galatians 4:18-19, A mature Christian is one who emulates Christ in his life. Ephesians 4:11-13 God wants us to understand that when we began the journey, where we were headed to. And we are headed to becoming like Christ. 1. Mature Christians are secure in their relationship with Christ. They know that they already have eternal life, 1 John 5:11-13. They don't have doubts of their stand in God. 2. Mature believers have victory over sin in their lives. Maturity assures you that God cannot allow that which is beyond you to tempt you. 1 Corinthians 10:13 3. A mature believer understands the scriptures and can apply it effectively in their lives. 2 Timothy 3:16-17. The Bible has one author but many writers. Inspiration means it is God who directed the writers on what to write.

*Battle For Prophetic Word* Prophetic Word bring along spiritual warfare . But the greatest joy is that we fight from a point of victory. When God speaks a prophetic word,it is not only you who receives the word,even the enemy receives the word. Once he has got the prophetic intelligence of where God wants to take you,he rises to put hinderances against the prophetic word. he may bring along; * Judas in your way to betray you. * Sickness to slow you down *Relationship battles *Stressful situations * Financial distress. All these is to try make you forget and stop pursuing whatever God has said about you. *Battle of unbelief* the battle to believe what God said is true in the face of contrary circumstances. Most of the time the voice of circumstances speak louder than the voice of God. And such situations,we start doubting God's word since it looks unreasonable and impossible according to the circumstances. *It is important to note that God has refused to operate in the realm of reasonable and possibility.* We must engage God in the realm of faith. *Why God Speaks Ahead Of Time* 1. To reveal His will so that they will align with the will of God and pray in that will. 1 John 5:14 2. Because He is seeking for a witness. Somebody to prove His faithfulness and trustworthiness. God does not deal with man according to the Chronos time (the time of man according to the clock) but deals with us according to the Kairos time(a time when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action), the appointed time,the most fitting time. THE IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER|| MORNING DEVOTION || 07th ,APRIL 2022 || WITH REV H KANYI Why do we keep on emphasizing about prayer? - When God created the world He gave all the dominion to man and in His plans over the earth, He needs the man whom He gave the dominion to invite Him to do anything on earth. We cannot limit God but He has confined Himself within His word and He has decided that to do anything on earth, He will do it upon an invitation from man. Prayer is giving God an invitation. We have a role to mpray and invite God in our situations and lives. God is not a gatecrusher, Revelation 3:20. Even though God is almighty, there are things He has limited Himself and one of them is in the sphere of prayer. God works on earth based on 2 things: 1. His sovereignity. There ere things we dont need to pray for them to happen 2. Men's invitation to God through prayer. When a man gives themselves to the Holy Spirit, prayer becomes as normal as breathing. no man or power can stand against a man who has the following traits, 1. A man who knows how to pray. 2. A man who meets the conditions of effective praying. 3. A man who really prays. Luke 11:1, Jesus has the school of prayer where we learn how to pray. Jesus wa not giving His disciples a formula to pray but ingredients of prayer. Prayer is not prayer because we have the knowledge or information about prayer but prayer becomes prayer when we pray. 1. Prayer is the place where the greatest battles are fought. Exodus 17:8-13, the vicotry of the Israelites was not dependent on the fighters but on the lifting hands of Moses. -When Peter was arrested, it was the prayers of the believers that brought him out. It is in prayers that victory over battles is found. 2. In Luke 11, there is a phrase "Do not lead us into temptations." Jesus knew temptations are a mandatory thing for every Christian to encounter. Tmptations is enticing one to sin against God. The devil knows he cannot get us out of God by force and the only way he does is by bringing us temptations to sin leading us to the wrath of God. The power of the work of the cross reduced the power of satan to make us sin. -Prayer creates a distaste of sin. 3. It is the Holy Spirit who ministers grace to us, Titus 2:7-When we pray, we acknowledge that without His grace we cannot be able to overcome or withstand the temptations and the battles of this life, that we are weak without His help. "The devil fears even the weakest Christian when he/she is on the knees." In prayers, people get strengthened. 4. Prayers draws the hand of God into our situations.
