Thank you! The pieces work well as solos (I’ve done them all) but are terrific with band.

Love this one. I played it a lot in high school. Of all the preludes in this collection I think Dreaming On works best as a solo. I also like Forcing the Pace quite a lot but that one really needs the full rhythm section backing, at least when I played it. Good stuff!

Play it again is in the mocrojazz collection 2 level 2 or another level

Can I ask about the slurs in the descending right hand sequence in bars 7-8. Are they intended to played with more of an emphasis rather than a separation? So no staccato as marked at the end me of the slur?
@christophermicrojazz2 ай бұрын
Yes - slight emphasis on the first note of each group but no gaps (you can hear it clearly on the performance)
@Julestrinder2 ай бұрын
@ ahh interesting. The abrsm phrase ends are marked staccato so I assumed there should be gaps but this is good to know. Thanks!!

Many thanks. Those videos are great to decide which book to buy first, etc. But I noticed that for MicroLatin, the score 19 is missing. There is 18 and then 20. Would it be possible to add 19 as well?

Thank you, Christopher. My teacher taught me this piece when I first had lessons with her in September 2019. Although I play classical piano I wanted to try something more "jazzy". Since then I have played Baroque, Classical and Romantic, and have also ventured into the modern (e.g. Bartok and Debussy).

Not altogether fake - I recorded it on the same piano but wanted a less roomy sound so mimed (overall pretty expertly) to my own performance. But well spotted!
