Man I’ve been seeing more and more people not like a 350 ls swap and I’m bummed cause that’s my dream car. Always wanted a 350z for the looks but not enough power for me so I wanted to ls swap. Want something I can drift but also beat a hellcat while in my dream body, but sounds like I should find a new dream car :(

Great video! I contemplated this swap for some time . My question remains, is it really such a huge improvement in Braking to justify the considerable cost? I compare the braking of my C6 Z51 to previous cars ( like a 930 Porsche and a Mercedes 450 SEL 427) I don’t race anymore and would like to find some concrete braking distance 60 mph to Zero Comparing the Z51 system to the Z06 Set up to see if the investment is justified, other than looks.

I just used 15mm spacers all around so I could use my stock base wheels. I didn't want to replace the studs with extended ones but if you go that route you only need 8mm spacers.

You'd be better off following the NHRA specifications (SCCA is almost identical). The upper mount should be below the shoulders - not the same height. You want equal pressure on the shoulder as on the lap belt on the hips. Your overly worried about compressing the spin - but you can stretch it also. NHRA regulations are written in blood. For your example: a) the seatbelts are way too loose. b) the top of the seat is not supporting the belt. If the belt was tight, it should be a straight shot from your shoulders to the mount. You will not compress the back because your lap belt is putting the same forces on your body (same direction.

Great video and explanation! Subscribed. I have one question though. If you have the Z51 model with the slotted rotors, can you just replace the calipers to the larger Z06 size? I already have the wide body conversation with the Z06 size tires.

Tip: you can enter dimensions in inches and it'll convert to metric for you. For instance, type in 4.75" (with the quote to indicate inches) and it'll immediately convert it to 120.65mm for you. (Just a nice little feature that can save some time.)

Okay, I give up: WHERE did you find 15mm bolt-on spacers? The only ones I've found are priced as though they are made of platinum. I've been running 20mm for months now, and I'd rather not have the tires digging into the fenders at an upcoming HPDE.

Hey I used to be cool, I have a 2004 350Z that the motor is about to go and I have some money I just inherited that is burning a hole in my pocket, would you be interested in building another one of these? Ill pay you whatever you need to do it the way you want to and then some and pay you well enough you can take your time and do it exceptionally like you did yours .i don’t know if you do this for a living or if you’ll ever do it again but I am very interested in getting it done .i live in southern middle Tennessee the car is a 2004 automatic it’s the same silver color as yours ,the only problems with the car rite now is no power steering and massive oil consumption and no power please let me know something ASAP thank you
