great as always-looks like the urban promenades dlc is about to come out in the next few weeks, and the German region pack drops on the 11th. You picked a great time to restart a city with all this new content on its way

Seriously, it does seem like it. The new assets look good. If I had a wish list, I would like to see assets that represent the Old West, steam punk, or dystopia. That would make the game way cooler.

I think since this build is somewhat about traffic management, I would say this Figure out where you want your rail and metro yards to go first-then bus and taxi depot-starting with an idea of where you want your rail lines to go to serve cargo and passenger stations in your neighborhoods. Don't forget the parks and road services buildings. Build the roads for your neighborhoods, and before you start zoning, place your parks, **parking**, and public service areas. Lay out your first bus route before anyone moves in (you might need some people to move in to drive the buses maybe?) so your buses can all get in position and start doing the routes before the taxi tsunami hits with all the new move ins. And instead of infinite demand, use find it to place buildings at least in some places. Easier to control the direction you want them to face (note: Buildings won't level up on their own so you might want to use the highest level). You can also place motels, hotels, hol-i-day inns where you want them. And remember- any time you create a new bus or tram route, do it after midnight game time as there will be less cars on the street. Sorry for the word wall. For names, let's see if some lore/history comes around them and name accordingly.

not all garbage is recyclable so you still need a landfill. when the landfill starts to get full, slap up an incinerator. I do like the Crystal Coast map. I find that if demand goes down, it helps (some of the times) to add more public transport options. One year anniversary of the game is coming up and there are hints of a new region pack coming out-which makes me think they might have at least some of the asset importer ready for deployment sooner than we think.

hearts pop up in the game every February for Valentine's Day :) Yes to all unlock. My advice for traffic-the number one cause of traffic is cab-mageddon due to everyone moving into the city all at once-if you look at the hot spots and see a sea of yellow cars, it's just a matter of waiting for those to clear once people find their forever homes. Specific critique of your traffic-you have your highway exits to one main road-there should be more exits that get off on other roads, or even another highway so traffic is distributed. Also experiment more with your traffic light mod and your lane connection mod-use more asymmetrical roads at major intersections to allow for an extra turning lane. Some traffic lights should be set to "split phase" using the traffic light mod for better flow.

Ahh, the February date. That makes a lot more sense than what I said in the video, hahaha. Yeah, Ill have to focus on doing more than just cabs and get a good backbone of transportation for sure. In this episode that's about to come out I have options of maps to start this unlimited build on, don't forget to comment what map you would like to see!

welcome back! I was thinking, you showed the pedestrian bridges going over the exit ramps at the beginning, what if you make a bridge from them going over the road? that way they can cross the big road too if they want to get to the other side. Next..wondering if you should keep the college and uni "at large" rather than assigned just to Crystal Cove district. You had a lot of demand for college/uni outside of the Cove, so those folks will be excluded from attending. If it fills up, build more and maybe eventually assign each college/uni to a couple districts just to be sure it is filled up and services most of the constituents that want to go. And leave a few without district just to catch any stragglers.

I had a helicoptor in game the other day that was driving back and forth on the sidewalk ;) I'm not sure how accurate the city census mod is regarding homeless-it hasn't been updated and the changes made to game might make it count homless wrong? I'm not sure. But the Bye Bye Homeless mod was updated to take care of some of the homeless stuck issues that are still present in game. I would like to see that bridge have some fancy gubbins on top-I think you can just upgrade a fancy bridge with tram lines instead of making the custom road since you can't yet do fancy bridges with road builder. Just my personal aesthetics though, so don't mind me too much on that

That must have been one hell of a helicopter ride, hahaha. I did see the Bye Bye update but it will all be interesting with the announcement that was made by CO about focusing on the game as it is which I hope means removing all of the bugs they can and optimizing the game even more.

great as always. If you would rather make shallower tunnels to the island instead of crazy high bridges: 1. Save game first-there is a slight risk of flooding so if it does, then you can go back 2) Click shift terrain on top of a shipping lane. That will raise the ground underneath to the maximum height needed for a ship to float comfortably 3) Use level terrain tool in strategic spots to raise ground to that height and paint it to the mainland 4) You can put subways, underground pedestrian paths etc under that ground without it doing funky lumps under water hope that made sense

the spaces you left between buildings would be perfect spots for pedestrian paths. I look forward to seeing how you do public transport there-might I suggest if you are doing a 1 way ring road, you use road builder to make busses bi directional? You can also use road builder to make station platforms that work for, trams, busses, trains, metro. but you need the "Extra Networks and Areas" mod so you can put special "integrated" stops on the platform

speaking of staying hydrated, be sure to unlock the fire helicopter depot and place it near water so the copters can hydrate before they fly off and dump a bucket of water on a burning structure. Tip that I admit I'm always forgetting myself-you won't know if traffic is truly fixed until rush hour-so many times I thought I figured out traffic, only to realize I was looking at it at 2am. Come rush hour, my 'fixes' turned out not much better than before. One of the drawbacks of turning off day/night cycles I suppose.

video is 🔥🔥❤‍🔥👨‍🚒🚒as usual. tip: if you turn off snap to guidelines, you get a more consistent, less broken zoning pattern-the drawback is you need to eyeball where roads connect. Also placing tiny parking (I think you have that mod) in unzonable areas is a good use of otherwise wasted space if you don't just want to put a tree there or whatever. Looking forward to the road tool mod.

Crystal Cove had a good ring to it . Maybe some pleasure piers or fishing piers will also add to the attractiveness and tourism. Hotels 🏨 and theme parks might help also.

That zoning tool you used right at 30:00- is that base kit or a mod? It looks super helpful! It drives me nuts in CS1 when I'm trying to zone for one building and it breaks it up into smaller buildings because the tiles erroneously get separated!

That is a mod called 'Zoning ToolKit'. I think there is something simular in CS1 but I don't know if it is called the same thing or not.

woo I'm famous! The new neighborhood reminds me of the shape of a harp-and being near HARPoon Bay, maybe call it Harpsong? And there is a tree on top of another tree near the baseball park-darn anarchy ;)

in the absence of zoning tools, you can upgrade the side of the road you don't want zoned to a quay wall, let things grow up then remove the quay wall afte so you aren't stuck with a railing on one side of the road...-there is also the technique of laying a bit of pedestrian path along the side of the road until you get zoning to face where you want it to. That one is hard to explain in words but there are videos abound on that technique

I love what you did with the college, the road there looks really organic!! Also, don't forget to put post boxes around the city or people will keep complaining about unreliable mail service <3 I also think that putting a roundabout after the big roundabout located at the entrance to the city might help, I'm not super sure but the best thing you can do is try it out and see if the flow of traffic gets better, I think the main issue is having so many cars waiting for the red light to turn green at the intersection. And don't forget to add a cemetery and public transportation to the industry area!

I really like how you designed the pedestrian in between the housing, it looks really nice also, don't be afraid to put commercials in the same area as residentials. Maybe it will create less traffic because then people don't need to get a car to go shopping <3 Another thing, there were certain moments in this video that the music was so loud that I couldn't hear you too well, could you please be more careful with that in future videos? <3

Hello! I quite enjoyed this video, I was looking for another cities skylines series to watch and yours seems promising! Little advice when it comes to traffic: avoid 4 way cross roads wherever you can! Go with roundabouts or T junctions when possible 💖💖 Edit: you getting excited for getting traffics lights is so American 🤣🤣

I don't know how much it helps, or if it matters after patch-but I like to create neighborhoods of 2x2 buildings, houses, offices, business, etc to offer cheaper places to rent out-starter houses if you will. It does seem to lower my high rent icons, but there are so many other factors with that I can' say for certain that is the way to go or the cause of it. The smaller homes, mixed use and 1x2 (or is it 2x1?) row houses areas look pretty cute anyhow.

Yeah, I don't know how much will be changing after this patch to reduce rent issues but we will see. I'm just hoping the modders got their hands on a beta release to update their mods when the patch goes live. Supposedly, the patch is coming this week.

small tip to avoid the frustration of having roads and paths suddenly decide to go up when you go over a tree..when you have the road or path tool up, the option that is the second to last one (the one with an arrow pointing to a window)-turn it off-(snap to surface of an object)-although I think there was an update to turn it off by default now? don't quote me on it
