We on the same boat always just been a casual player with kaz or Jin would only play against CPU’s since TK4 then when tekken 8 was announced I decided to actually take it seriously and was gonna pick up kaz cause that’s what I only really knew but it was hard. So I went to Steve after realizing how cool he actually is but struggled even more but I also learned he’s supposed to be a hard character to use and in return you get amazing damage if you can use him right. That’s simply it. All steve mains will take as many L’s and never give up until they reach their peak.

As a new Steve main in Tekken 8, firstly I want to say that the frustration you are feeling is something we all have (or are still) going through & it’s part of the process of learning. It’s very easy to get frustrated piloting steve when you don’t have traditional launchers like everyone else, heat not as strong as others, weaker oki than most, the list goes on. It can feel a lot of games that you couldn’t have done anything for sure. One tip I have is watch your replays & take control of your character & go through your options if you don’t already. I’m not sure what level/rank you are but that’s something that will help no matter what rank you are. Once you start figuring out what these characters are doing, & what’s punishable & what isn’t it’ll make things a lot easier. Steve has alot of tools to deal with quite a few things in this game, just have to take advantage of the tools. You’ll get it bro. Don’t give up & keep playing him 🙏🏽 the work pays off.

Idk bro I hit blue ranks and nobody knows what Steve does still. No reason you can't run his basic pressure and just cook everybody. Not having 15f punishers barely matters until you learn all the shit you need to punish. Just copy the offense you see good Steve's do and get your back 1 launchers vs all the mashers. Steve doesn't have to deal with all the bullshit kazuya does that's exactly why I learnt him, when people try and mash their way out your pressure they make it easier for Steve.
