59 here - but didn't like the original King Kong that much, (I know I know , I'm a filmmaker too, you'd think otherwise but ... I just can't seem to see what's so great about it. Original Mighty Joe was great though.) Kong '76 was better for my taste - I also like the Peter Jackson version about as much. The Kaiju Kong films are fun too - kind of like a rollercoaster ride.

Starting at 4:40 does everyone see what I see? It’s like all I can see… coupled with the frenzied thrusting dancing of the natives? And Jessica Lange’s provocative stupor? Great imagery, I’ll say that.

One of my childhood faves every time it aired on television, when television was still a big deal. I Saw it for the first time when I was eight years old in the late 70s. But About the tree crunching business. How could there still be trees there in his path? I got the impresssion that this wasnt Kong's first Rodeo and that they gave him a steady supply of sacrifices. I mean lets say it was one per year. Trees would grow up in his path that fast? I know ,I know its just a movie. lol
