This is how my son was taught to tie his Ukrainian sash, which is different from the way shown if you google Ukrainian sashes.

There was lots of trading between First Nations and Ukrainian people in the Prairies :) it may be a holdover from then

@@bushmann6359 Its from French Voyagers from canada. They intermingled with native people which resulted in tribes known as Metis. They used these sashes. Think mountain men.

@Paladin_Green Thank you, I know haha I am Metis I meant the way a Ukranian ties their sash being the same as first Nations maybe a hold over from trading. Like how I was told the reason Kohkum’a have head scarves is from trading and befriending Ukranian Babbas 🤙🏼

I have seen women wear the sash diagonally over one shoulder and then around their waste. Is this correct as well?

We were taught to wear it from left shoulder to right hip.
