I have the whole early voyages run. Great series! Big fan of the ( jeffrey hunter) capt pike. I noticed the comicbook Dr Boyce looked far different from the actor who played Dr Boyce (john hoyt). Marvel might not have gotten the rights to use his likeness.

Without having access to the original manuscripts, it’s misleading to assume that the “writer” was mainly responsible for the direction of the story, much less the many details you admired like Wilma dearing disguised in enemy gear. Comics back in those days were written mainly in plot format, with oftentimes a simple conceptual outline of a few sentences or paragraphs. The artist was left with the heavy task of drawing out the story how he chose fit, filling in character details and actions. the writer would then come back and add the dialogue to finish it out.
@ComicsandBoardgamesАй бұрын
Aren't you describing the Marvel Method, which didn't really become a thing until Lee and Kirby, with it being more the exception than the rule? Agree with you on the Wilma disguised in enemy gear could be misleading to assume it's the writer, but generally these newspaper strips were plotted and written much more input by the writer than a Comic book of the same time.

Blake and Mortimer is one of my favorite series, but my two bests are Valerian and Gomer Goof 🥰. The Yellow M will of particular interests to those interested in the Tavistock Institute.

IMO Valerian ang GG are okay, but much prefer Blake and Mortimer.

I can prove how Koreans and Manchurians along with Bolivians are living fossils of Elizabethan Queen Anne Sailors while Hottentots or Kung bushman along with Polynesians are living fossils of Ming dynasty to put Buck Rogers in perspective.

Nice. I suggested the war correspondent 'everyman' character to Billy when he was planning this. In thanks, he drew me as a character, "Sid Richardson" who is named after my grandfather and he drew the character from photos I sent him of myself. It was quite a thrill. And my name is in the credits for that bound version
