The Americans & Scottish actor Delivers a Film that works better as a comedy than a historical Epic. The Pentagon produces propaganda films, and it highlights how absurd it is to view them. Do Americans (REALLY) pay to watch American English movies? There is an intelligent Historical movie to be made in English about a new Typhoon-class ballistic missile submarine, and Russian culture, and this isn't it. Never let Hollywood control the narrative of history, particularly when it comes to the Russians. Typical American and English-Scottish actors who can't act, even the Soviet submarine looks nothing like a Soviet submarine. Sean Connery's portrayal did not resemble the captain of a Russian submarine, which could be considered offensive and insulting to the Russians, who are superior to any Scottish-American submarine. I am often offended by Hollywood when the Scottish English and Americans portray my Greek ancestors. Imagine how inadequate the British, English, Germans, French, and white people in the US must feel, lacking their ancient history and making movies about ancient cultures such as Greece, Egypt, and all the other ancient civilisations. I'm here to Salute the Russians for having the Courage the British and Americans didn't have in WW2. ( The CIA collaborated extensively in the production of the 2012 film Zero Dark Thirty). I Read the novel 15 years ago and IT was an amazing story. The 2h movie made in the 80s was good but merely 1/4 of all the twists and plots the book has. I would shit myself if prime or Netflix would Do a remake a kind of 2 Seasons 8 or 10 episodes taking Time to unveiled that monster. IT has everything...suspense...intrigues..complexe situations...dualiities ...Political tensions inside and outside... CIA KGB NSA pentagon politburo..the good old coldwar stuff...but even better!!!!!!!

I always viewed Alec Baldwin as a bit part in this movie and Sean and James the stars that carried the film.

The “old diesel submarine” they used for the interior of the Red October was the USS Blueback. It is now an exhibit at Oregon Museum of Science and Industry. She was decommissioned in 1990. She was the last diesel warship in the US fleet.

Fun fact: they spelled titles in Russian wrong.

"The Hunt for Red October" still stands as one of the best "end of the cold war" movies ever in my personal opinion!

Absolutely adore this movie. Detest Alec Baldwin but can't resist the rest. Just too good.

I had to snicker a little when the ILM guy said, "They were having another facility working on the post-production special effects and Paramount and the director decided they wanted an alternative..." According to someone I talked to who worked at ILM at the time, it was more like a 9-1-1 call: "These effects look like s**t!! Please save our movie!!!" Fortunately, they were able to pull some rather expensive rabbits out of their hats to deliver the flawless effects we still enjoy

(Note to the maker of this video - and many many others - for Pete’s sake if you are making a doco with lots of interviews and speech don’t wreck it with background music even if it is as good as a mens’ choir. People are watching to hear the dialogue: my brain couldn’t disentangle it from the backing track!

Nie byłem wtedy jeszcze na świecie ale mi rodzice opowiadali. Dzieci wyczekiwały na ten telenarek z nadzieją, że obejrzą sobie bajkę, która leci w raz w tygodniu, a tu Jaruzelski z ogłoszeniem stanu wojennego

Jaruzel miał wtedy jaja. Postawił dobro kraju nad własną opinią. Dobrze wiedział że cały naród go znienawidzi ale wolał to niż żeby wojska sowieckie przekroczyły nasze granice

Prior Navy here (AZ3: '85-'89), this movie and "Flight of the Intruder" have my stamp of approval. I always tell people that "Top Gun" and its sequel are absolute nonsense. When I watch my approved movies, I swear I can smell that distinctive carrier smell ("Flight of the Intruder") and the language and collaborative nature is true to the Navy ("The Hunt for Red October")--at least according to this "Airwing Puke", while all you bit*hes are "ge-dunkin' "!

Byłem obecny podczas wprowadzania stanu wojennego jako student Wojskowej Akademi Technicznej. Kilka kilometrów dalej stały wojska generała Kulikowa który zaproponował Jaruzelskiemuu aby wprowadził sam stan wojenny albo on wejdzie do Polski i zrobi Porządek

Powinni w koncu rozliczyc tego Bolka, Walese ze doprowadzil do wprowadzenia stanu wojennego. To on jest winny biedzie milionow ludzi i wyprzedazy majatku narodowego! Walesa oddaj moje 100 milionow, plus odsetki ! Dziadu jeden!

Dzisiaj też rząd koalicji 13 grudnia świętuje pierwszą rocznicę. I tak symbolicznie w tych dniach centralizuje przemysł telewizyjny, żeby z przekazem jedynie słusznym móc docierać do szerokich mas.
