Nice work on the father & son build. Video is 4 yrs old now so I’m sure you’ve worked out the dimensional setting, I’m researching to DIY build a CNC Plasma Table, I see you can adjust direction (clockwise / anticlockwise) to get the kerf width offset on the correct side of the cut. Awesome work. Cheers for content.

Is this without ceramic fiber and refractory?

Suppose you want to grind a longer blade, like a chefs knife, the table shown here would be too small, right?

Seeing what poor care you take over the handling of the VFD, it is amazing how resilient it is.

for 850 and I HAVE TO BUILD IT.. it is a hard sell.. but after looking at it i might give the build a try. Maybe make a wider and deeper model in the future?

15:20. "Which I believe it the hertz". Those numbers are explained on the large section of instructions you cut off and threw away. VFDs have over one hundred configurable parameters, most are there to increase the optimise the motor performance, quietness, ramps for start and stop and external drivers for data control and peripherals.

I wonder if someone had the wheels ( outer part ) 3D printed from TPU and how reliable those wheels would be.

I picked mine up at a garage sale years ago for $35. I also pick up drill bits at garage sales and I have been given drill bits that were going to be tossed. All of them sharpened great. The split points are a bit tricky but they are all sharpened. I now sharpen bits every January and have 4 indexes full of good bits. The old bits are the best and they hold a good edge for many holes. Some of them are from 70s when I was in high school and bought my first set. The Drill Dr fixed them every time.

@TobaccoTooling14 күн бұрын
You probably need a bigger cylinder or more pressure usually power hammers can crush a 2x4 in 1-2 blows
@HouseMadeUS14 күн бұрын
I didn't have it fully open. I think this thing could do that no problem. Also it needed to be aligned a bit. I'll do more testing to see.
@xXxJSHxXx14 күн бұрын
Big No to what you're doing! If there's water in the wood, you can create enormous pressure and create an explosion and wood chips will fly into your body. Blacksmiths all over the world have ended up in the hospital when they do that.

If you could only chose one, Power Hammer or Hydraulic Press?

Press, hands down

I am a machine designer professionally and a hobbyist metalworker. It might behoove you to have a broach made up to shave out the inside of the outer tube since you are producing the kits in quantities. Remove the mill scale first then put the broach through to remove the weld flash/seam.

The entire forge is a,great design Brian!! Love the kao sheet,and soft bricks, much more durable than ceramic blanket, the ribbon burner is on point, and the refractory is a great chioce also, the fabricator in me woukd prob tack the corners of the door to prevent distortion over a long period of time ,but im sure as is will be just fine, i have your revolution gen 2,im ready for a few upgrades like your surface grinder atachnent and newer gen flat platen, keep driving on bud, you have come a long way and are doing great things for us in the trade , thanks for all you do

Great vid? Was wondering if you have considered offering a simple 2x42/48 belt grinder kit with a flat platen, that can be attached to a bench grinder or simple electric motor? It would be nice to have a less expensive, no weld, entry level machine for beginners and for sharpeners.
