If you have a GE water softener GXSH40V. If most Float assembly are the same there is a rubber stopper under the Styrofoam Float that can give out and during the Brine Rinse when suction occurs the rubber stopper gets sucked in clogging the bottom . When fill starts it attaches back to the float so you won't notice it happening. So check that first.

Thank you so much for your informative video. I am saddened at the moment, as my most beautiful hen (cross white sussex/cochran) is very ill at the moment. I have gently given her soft food and syringed drops of water into her beak, to ensure she is getting food and water into her body. She wasn't able to eat and drink independently, until I helped her. She pecks at food now and drinks independently. But she does not walk far. She just sits and puts her head under her wing. Her eyes look like grey membrane, then she opens her eyes and they look ok. She has on and off moments. I am so sad, as I am sure she is going to pass away soon. Such a shame. But I wanted to thank you so much for your informative video. It helped me a lot to understand my Gorgeous Girl's symptoms. Thank you :-)

All these systems look the same, must be made by one manufacturer. I cleaned the float valve. Note that you can lower the stop on the float to help keep the water level to a minimum (I think). I replaced the venturi valve (the little dome shape connected to the brine line). I replaced the rotor and valve seals. For years, I added added the maximum amount of salt. If something goes wrong and you have too much water, there is a good chance of getting a salt bridge. So, if your system is older, you might want to keep the salt level low. I'm not convinced I've cured the too much water issue. I'm going to watch it over the next few week, let the salt run out and see what happens. The water level shouldn't go past the stop. At least that's what I think. The only other thing I read or watched said the resin bed might be bad. I'm not sure how that affects the level of water in the tank. I'm about $50 of parts into repair parts. If what I've done so far doesn't work, I'll probably just get a new system. After all, the current system is about 14 years old.

Hello, greetings, I see that you know a lot about Neon, a favor and a nuisance, if you could help me, I would greatly appreciate it. I have had a Neon 2001 automatic 2.0 engine for 3 months, an irregular detail After going out in the car for long distances or 20 or 30 minutes, returning and turning off the car, you hear that the hose that goes to the Antifreeze tank wants to boil and in less than 1 minute it stops doing so, it doesn't boil or expel it, it just wants to start and stops doing it Complete engine overhaul was done in 2014 New agency radiator cap has already been changed Temperature sensor changed Thermostat changed Starter fan and fan motor were replaced Antifreeze was changed and air was expelled from the system The radiator does not leak No leaks in hoses The fuses are good New antifreeze tank changed What do you think could be happening? Thank you very much for your help, I would value your opinion. Greetings from Mexico Puebla

Good video- Thanks! My problem has been that salt precipitates onto the fiberglass rod that the float is supposed to freely slide up and down on and it results in incomplete fill during the brining cycle and incompletely softened water. The float will rise and pull on the rod instead of freely sliding toward the ceramic weight. This has happened 3 times over 20 years. Wiping off the fiberglass rod and checking that the float slides freely resolves the problem. I haven't seen this problem described in any water softening trouble shooting video or forum.

Great. :-p One of those people that screws up wiring where an electrician, and or purchaser of the home does not know what's running where, and or too much is on one circuit. Or, it was already screwed up, and you made it worse, instead of fixing it? Depending on your existing panel, circuits, wiring, have one circuit for each room. Also, depending, that may be in relation to what is, or needs to be, connected/wired to each room, such as, possibly, 1 or more 15 amp, 120v mini splits or window AC's. Of course, there can be, for instance, if having an older panel with not enough wiring/breakers/circuits, two bedrooms next to each other on the same circuit, but wired correctly, individually, to a proper breaker, and labeled. ETC! I completely understand many may want to DYI. It seems to me most people think of hiring a pro, _or_ DYI. But, they don't think about both. Plan out what is wanted to be done, put the plan on paper, hire a pro to eval. Sure, you will have to spend some extra money, but that is still a lot less expensive than also hiring the pro to do the work. That can save you a ton of hurt!* *The wiring you put in the wall for the TV, is it properly terminated? I.E., does it need to be in a junction box according to your local code? (Often, local code is stricter than the NEC.) If by some chance it causes a fire, when the insurance finds out, and you can bet they will, they will deny any claim. So, since it was not clear, or I missed it, are the wires still hooked to the outlet? If so, disconnect them. Loose wire/s in the wall connected to nothing will harm nothing. But still, you can wire nut them and put electrical tape on, at least, the junction box side. Or, pull the wire out. TID BIT: Never leave an open splice, anywhere. In the attic, protect the wiring from damage, such as just accidentally walking over them and damaging the insulation. Check codes, such as for stapling, also. A homeowner can usually run loose wiring in a wall, as long it is permanent, but the attic may be a whole other story.

From my undertanding, putting too much salt can create a salt bridge because all the weight of the salt will compress the salt at the bottom and create blocks kf salt or a layer of solid sheet of salt. Also, having the water fill post regen may leave water in the tank for long and accelerate breaking down of the salt pellets and create a layer of salt at the bottom of the tank which will eventually clog the bottom of the brine well. It this happens, chnaging it ro pre fill a couple kf hours before regen and help avoid premature breaking down of the salt pellets.
