What kind of wood? That's beautiful. I've been trying to pick out a material for an upcoming project, and I'd love to use this wood. The contrast between the grain is phenomenal

This was Bocote. Some bocote isn't as nice as this. I had to search a while to find this one. I ordered it from woodcraft

@@ForgedEdge wow, I've seen bocote before and passed up on it, but it really does look great finished! Thanks for the response. Most creators wouldn't have done so. You've got a sub from me!

@brycehanneman4144 yeah it looks pretty plain before sanding. I go up to 2000 grit and use boiled linseed oil. Good luck!

Cool gadget. Im old skool and use regular whetstones as they do not care how long your blade is. Compound curves and long blades are why I learned to do everything without jigs. As an example a Kris dagger wouldn't work on that setup. Neil Kamimura has the best vids on hand grinding and sharpening. Forge On!!!
@ForgedEdge28 күн бұрын
Yeah, I will always love a whetstone. I think it's important to learn those freehand methods first because jigs and guides can become a vise if that's all you learn
@ArrowForceOne28 күн бұрын
Sweet video. You should definitely add the bench mount accessory as well if you're sharpening on a non pourous surface. It will make that sucker rock solid. 🤘
