My problem with this scene is thousand of years fighting the grims back warriors and hunters throughout those generations and the concept of kingdoms still being prevalent how is there NOT enough soldiers on reserve to be at this scene? It's literally just the main cast and some important characters and they're dealing with less then ten people.

Rwby has devolved to the point these fight scenes are genuinely sad. It actually looks like she’s just swinging around a weapon she picked up at random and not a weapon she’s been using for years. Each fight is so static and uneventful it’s pretty hard to compare this to what it used to be. They make like 8 moves a fight and then we get some type of drama. It’s like they wanted to focus more on animating the expressions rather the fights. No real offense to the animation team but I just find this saddening

Crescent Rose has an entire war scythe configuration that Ruby just doesn’t use. Not only would it probably be far better and more versatile against smaller opponents, it would look cooler than the weird majorette twirling they always have her do with her weapon now.

Just coming across this 2 year old post. Has anyone noted that this scene didn't make a whole lot of sense? Neo could have easily used her semblance to get out of this jam. Cinder simply knocking her off a ledge made little sense to me.

Neo hates ruby due to roman's death although it wasn't her fault. Cinder don't gives a fuck about neo. Salem don't either as mercury said to emerald.

Why is neo allowed back through the portal

Everyone is saying that their fighting skills got worse, but if you look at it (at least in this clip) they were tired as hell. If i remember correctly, they didnt get rest at all on this volume, and if you add that they watched Yang fall, everything got worse for them...

I love how this bench targeted a seventeen year old girl with a scythe and was willing to ignore the apocalypse just to put her down. Neo became the queen of “No catching your breath” in the last episodes.

Honestly this battle highlights how bad Ruby is as a fighter. She's great at killing a shit ton of Grimm but they're mostly mindless. Seeing Ruby fight is like watching someone play a good character but they don't know how to use their moveset right. I've always said: The fact that she has a speedy semblance (which also allows her to fly and split her mass at will btw) pairs well with her choice of firearm. If she really wanted to, she could basically be untouchable. Snipers require being at a far enough location and out of sight to be the most effective and be able to have enough time to handle enemies that have spotted them and are trying to close the gap. If I were Ruby, i'd move around to confuse the enemy or to just create distance, and keep said distance. Sure the martial arts Ozpin was trying to teach her *could* come in handy if they manage to get close but she has to use it as a means of pushing back the enemy and resetting that distance again. She *should* be a glass cannon that's hard to hit

Man... I did not continue watching the series from volume 5 and seeing this I must admit that I regret it a bit, maybe I will continue watching it

Ngl the end never made sense to me like seriously neo might have died letting go but we already knew neo doesn’t like cinder and definitely thought of ways to double cross her neo also knew the relic was important that if it was lost cinder lost it cinder would probably be killed by salem or at the very least be endlessly tortured neo clearly just wanted ruby dead so just let go u literally let go then ruby would die by ur doing and u screw Over cinder by forcing her to lose the relic they can still do this scene but have ruby hang on instead of neo

I think Blake should've stuck with Ruby. The two could've overwhelmed Neo and knocked her into the void. This could've prevented Weiss from losing her aura when she eventually ended up intervening with their fight and got blown up by Cinder. This also could've prevented Ruby and Blake from falling in the void.

I wish the characters didnt get nerfed, like yea they got cool new abilities but theyre incredibly weaker than the first couple volumes, ofc that could just be the slower fight scenes but damn the old fight scenes just hit different.
