At the GXO Perris, CA location higher ups treat individuals with disabilities like crap. A 3rd shift GTP Operations Manager and GTP Supervisor with some seniority even called this young man (who is a great and dependable worker) "weirdø" and were looking for excuses to terminate his assignment. Facts. I work there.

@@GXOLogistics Many thanks for answering!!! But to be honest, from 0:09 -0:14 we can see there is no separation between the small AMR and the operators, we see also no safety sensors anyway, the opening of the window and the rest of the room could not be CE compliant, trapment, shearing and impact between those movements and operators fingers and hands is easy. Is any risk reduction measure not shown in the Video ? I dont understand how this can be used in a French site, it means Europ, if its certified and safe. At 1:18, we can clearly see the safety light curtain. Many thanks again
@GXOLogisticsАй бұрын
Look closer - there are blocking struts that prevent the totes from being pushed too far, the AMRs themselves stay beneath the divider rails so only the (lightweight) totes go above them, there are scanners and dividers that were not visible in the video, AND all operators wear gloves as an extra level of redundant safety. And that's just what I (a social media person living in the US) know about! =) The full system has been thoroughly reviewed and certified for safety compliance by all necessary parties. All is well!

I joined GXO MALL on 9th Mar, I withdrew Day 1 OK, Day 2 OK (total 50% of my investment) but Day 3, I could not withdraw, as they requested me to upgrade to upper VIPs, meaning recharging extra money. What you guess after you recharge more? Yes, you may lose all money including extra amount; or they will allow you to withdraw. Then you will face the same problems or lose all extra money. STOP it or you will lose money! I do not want you & your relatives will be same as victims like me and my friends. Viral this warnings to all people in the world. | BTW, I am from Vietnam!

Automation is expensive up front and a lot of companies build dumb facilities that is basically humans moving stuff around because it’s cheap to throw in a bunch of conveyor belts and make piles of stuff. Smarter would be for industries to get together and standardize packaging so the process can be done almost entirely by automated equipment. Some pharmacies are doing that with prescriptions now. Everything is in the same size bottle and is automatically delivered from basically a giant vending machine to the pharmacist.

Just use wheels and arms that go forward backward and grab by squeezing, or better just slide under the sides of standardized boxes. This is over-engineered.
@lukeh9907 ай бұрын
Technically correct, but the purpose is to be asleep drop in replacement without major overhaul. So in existing warehouses where stairs might be encountered and you can’t stop operations for a year to redo the entire warehouse with rails or a standardized container, it would easier to use something like digit.
@genericfakename81976 ай бұрын
It's engineered just enough to be able to walk on legs. Not using wheels is kind of the whole point so?
@javedlatif59287 ай бұрын
Instead of feet robot should have base with wheels with forward, backward & 360 degree rotation to make it faster. Arms for picking & placing with it. This will make it fast.
@lukeh9907 ай бұрын
While technically true, Digit was designed for the express purpose of working in a human centric environment. So it needs to navigate stairs and the unique leg design allows it to bend down without getting its legs in the way. It’s also first generation so it’s probably going to stay slow while the design is refined in future.
@genericfakename81976 ай бұрын
The point of the robot is to work in human spaces. They spent many years, lots of money, and gallons of scull sweat on making a machine that doesn't need wheels. It looks slow but it'll already move more boxes in a year than you or I could, and it's an experimental gen 1 humanoid robot.
@moonasha3 ай бұрын
feet allow it to go up and down stairs. It doesn't need to be faster, if it's twice as slow as a human they can just buy two and it will still be cheaper. boston dynamics has a video on a much faster sorting robot that can move at breakneck speeds, but I haven't seen it in the wild

The company has definitely run a cost-benefit analysis and determined that the loss of speed is worth the trial. Speed will only be a limiting factor for the first couple of generations of robots.
