I have the whole documentary of Aled's discovery by the BBC from a letter written by a Miss Edwina Olwig Evans transposed to DVD. It includes the above performance. Aled, afterwards said he had hiryth. (rough translation: "a longing for that which had been")

I'd forgotten how good their voices were at that time. Aled did well to be heard above Burrows voice, especially as he was having his shoulders and upper chest unnecessarily constricted for most of the time.

I know I am necroing big time, but it was really enjoyable to watch how this nursery rhyme was made specifically with Aled Jones as a treble for this exquisite version of Agatha Christie's "A pocket full of rye" starring Joan Hickson as miss Marple. I have watched this version an innumerable number of times, and the singing of the rhyme always comes through as somewhat otherworldly and mysterious. Finally, now I know why. So, thank you very much for uploading this recording of Sing a song of sixpence with Aled Jones, who is unmatched to this day as a treble.

Until about 2 months ago I would have said the same. I then heard Malakai Bayoh. Now I would say Aled is one of my two favourite boy sopranos.

Haven’t heard Aled sing that before. What a treat. First saw Stuart Burrows sing in Moriah Chapel, Abercynon in my youth.. My great uncle, Prof David Erasmus accompanied him on the organ. I was so impressed with Stuart at the time. Two great Welsh singers🏴🏴
