Oh my gosh. Who knew it would be this simple of a difference, between squeezing your hair or plopping etc and slinky. My hair looked more amazing than it has in years, since it’s thinned out. Thank you so much!!!

@@fitkatstyle4388 I think some is in other videos but I’d love to ask what hair products you specifically use that you’ve found our hair type holds well in or nourishes etc. Ive recently been trying to have everything extremely natural, I just bought some stuff from Just Nutritive I’m going to try but Ive had such a hard time with any products.
@katinabrock2943 Жыл бұрын
I love combining products (2 creams, 2 mousses, 2 gels or more etc) and I also have some discontinued favorites that I use! That said currently available products that I like are AG Recoil, Curlsmith Foam followed by a firmer mousse like G2b Volumaniac if they still make that? For gel I like Curlsmith In Shower Styler mixed with Jessicurl Spiralicious. I always combine the latter with stronger gels otherwise it gets too heavy and my hair gets flat without enough hold but it's great for keeping moisture in during the winter and keeping frizz out in the summer. I do like the controversial Deva Curl Volumizing Foam but my bottles are not the latest iterations, miine are 1st and 2nd generation. I think they are on 3rd or 4th now so I cannot attest to how those work. Hope that helps.@@matlinwhitten7800

Hi Kat, are you still making videos? I’ve always appreciated yours because you’re the only wavy curly that I’ve found that has fine, lower density hair like mine. And you’re closer to my age (I’ve been struggling with perimenopausal hair loss). I miss your guidance ❤

Late to this party. I will try. My hair is not thin necessarily, but medium texture and fine , but my hair is a beach wave, not curls and can get frizzy in parts. I’m going to try this because I think the upside down thing will annoy me since I use the twist method still. lol. Been doing that my entire life. My hair isn’t short. It’s medium length and I don’t use a lot of products. Some salt spray or some lolavie detangler and I do use conditioner in the shower and sometimes a leave in but I don’t want to weigh it down. I have wave , not curl. This is very informative.. thanks
@fitkatstyle4388 Жыл бұрын
Report back how it goes. A little gel to help hold the wave will help you see more wave and show it’s potential. If it is crunchy don’t worry. That’s holding he curl i. Place as it dries. Just scrunch it gently to release the cast or crunchiness. Thanks for stopping by and sharing!

I am just now learning about different diffusers. Very helpful. I am wondering how do you make sure that these different diffusers fit your particular dryer if it's not the same as the one you are using in this video?
@fitkatstyle4388 Жыл бұрын
The silicone collapsible one fits most. The Xtava has a removable thick rubber band like component that allows it to fit bigger dryers than with it. The Deva dupe hand one has a little flexibility or give in the opening as well. I don't know of any exact way to be sure. The Dyson dryer and ones that look like that won't fit any of the "normal" sized openings of these or similar diffusers. It's a bit of a gamble. In general Revlon has pretty standard sized nozzles. But maybe just have an easy return policy wherever you buy from.

Way too many products! Takes way too much time
@fitkatstyle4388 Жыл бұрын
Completely understand! If I could get the results I like that last me 4 days with out refreshing and last through flying on airplanes and changing climates by using less products, I would. But the time I save on days 2-4 without needing to refresh make it worth it for me. My ways are definitely not for everyone. What have you found that works well for you?

I've been using CG routines for a few years, & am excited to have discovered your videos for hair like mine! Thank you! ... Any tips for what we w/fine, low density should ask for when trying to get a good, volumizing, layered haircut? I was burned by (another) bad cut that left my hair looking more thin & scraggly, & I'm now scared to get the cut I need!
@fitkatstyle4388 Жыл бұрын
That’s a tricky question. I’ve had 5 Deva Cuts and most were bad and even the ok ones weren’t worth the price tag considering how short and low density my hair is. None were trained through Deva how to deal with our type hair. I usually had to do some major clean up as it grew out poorly and other times I just flat out saw gaps. They are trained for more dense hair. Out of frustration and my love for all things hair i now cut my own hair. And have for 4 years. I’d say get a traditional cut maybe even dry or try another type of curly trained professional and avoid Deva. Be prepared for high prices though. I do k ow some have had great luck but I think it’s so dependent on the stylists instincts at some point. I now cut my curly families hair as well. Lol

I normally "plop" (and then leave the towel up for half an hour cause I'm doing a million other things), never have great clumping, and roots were flat as. Accidentally did something similar to this when I was in a rush and just wanted moisture out before diffusing, ended up looking better. Glad to see a video on it that explains more.

Thank you for sharing this! Looks very easy to do. I wanted to leave a comment on the hair clips. I used to use the same ones because they hold so well but my hairdresser noticed I had shorter hair underneath in the areas where I usually clipped my hair because the metal in the clips had cut them. So I had to stop using them, at least regularly. So nowadays I mainly use the claws.

I am so thankful I stumbled across your video. I originally was looking to see if anyone on KZbin was comparing satin and silk pillow cases and I loved the video that you did on comparing them. It brought me here! I unfortunately have a lot of breakage around my hair line from the years and years of wearing headbands, tying my hair up, and using bonnets to sleep. It’s a new journey for me to sleep fully without a bonnet on my head and I didn’t want to use a scrunchi and possibly pull my hair more. This is such an awesome method! Hello! Love your videos! I was just wondering if you have any style tips for wavy/curly bangs? I can’t quite get it. Maybe I just need to survive the “training” time period lol. Do you keep certain products out of the bangs? Thanks! 😊
@fitkatstyle43882 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoy them! I apply the same products to my bangs as the rest of my hair but I wear my face framing fringe longer than many with a more tradition "bangs" look. If mine were much shorter I might play around with some different techniques or application methods. But I haven't had to do that, so I really don't have any pointers from experience. What seems to be the kind of issues are you having?
@renee48832 жыл бұрын
@@fitkatstyle4388 I’ll have to try with all the products. I have pretty traditionally cut bangs when stretched out they hit about mid nose. My curls are quite similar to yours. They either end up looking pretty decent or sometimes they’ll just fall flat across the forehead. I diffuse them but am not getting it quite right for volume lol. Thanks for the reply though. I’ll keep trial and error!!
@fitkatstyle43882 жыл бұрын
@@renee4883 hmm those would be really short bangs for me. I don’t think diffusing would work b/c it could mush them into a weird place. I think air drying and using small duckbill clips at the roots for lift might be a good option to try. Are you wanting them longer and curlier or a bit straighter and more traditional?
@renee48832 жыл бұрын
@@fitkatstyle4388 ohhh I think I might be doing exactly what you described lol. I will typically diffuse them with the rest of my hair and try and manipulate them a little bit when dry. I typically like them with a bit of volume at the root and as more of a side bang blending into my hair. I think I prefer the volume to the tight curl. Sometimes I find they look silly on me when I get tight curls. I will try clipping. I’m not very good at clipping they usually fall over on me! I’ll for sure try that! Thanks so much! You’re so helpful! ❤️
