Another tip, be sure you don’t get any of that chain lube on your brake disc or pads. You will have no back brake if you do.

I've caught enough carp here in the UK to know a fish of even 4 or 5lb isn't coming through an ice hole!

Not true. It was most likely a 6 inch whole. An 8 inch hole would be big enough for most any carp.

So your telling me a carp upwards of that is coming out of an 8" hole in the ice!?!? Here in the UK they grow to specimen sizes, they're not "trash" fish and anglers spend their entire fishing lifetime fishing exclusively for them..... With all due respect until you've caught a "man size" carp on a 3.5lb test curve rod that's bent nearly double..... You wouldn't make such a comment and bear in mind my pb carp stands at 26lb 8oz, which by the way is still considered small, I think I have a rough idea what I'm talking about.
