Do you ever think about opening the track some weekends for the public to come and ride it? Think it would be fun for everyone to have a go on the track

40 hp limit for MX1 & Mx2 in Australia so it may actually last race distance but one is lugging around a heavier bike with no outstanding advantages . Won't be selling my eMX cause it's entertaining but the ' 23 KTM125 stays put as well . Gunna need a bigger ( & lighter ) battery bro ...

I threw a hand brake on tapped into my rear foot brake in the LH side for the rear…..kinda nice cause I can drag it in a rut like a clutch if I’m standing it up. Not exactly like a clutch but it’s nice to have a lever there for muscle memory. Funny when I brake tap I pull in the brake and tap the foot. I’m sure if I came up on hand brakes I’d be fine but washed up old dogs can learn new tricks….sometimes we just don’t want to. Haha

I’ve nothing against the whole electric thing and happy for anyone to ride whatever they want but holy crap, go and watch an Arenacross race where they put the starks up against the combustion bikes and I’m terribly sorry but there’s just no comparison. The combustion bikes destroy the starks which look like half dead fish flopping around the track. They literally can’t even get through the whoops! FFS they can’t even pull a start! This just goes to show me these bikes are running on pure social media influencers bs. The AMA should just allow them in SX and MX and let the results speak for themselves 🤷♂️

For us, who ride in the forest and spaces near people, Varg is the top of the top for its silence, cleanliness, acceleration and control (rear brake on the handlebar is amazing)

Please to see another video on this! Reality is though people have their opinions and they are rigid to them and won’t change. Some will love and some will hate it. I think they have there place in the industry and for most practice track warriors who can only 10 ten minutes and don’t pack their exhausts, this is a god send to keeping tracks alive, but just doesn’t cut it at the top end yet!

Liked the vid. The gearing change to a 50t will help with battery life too as it will make the motor have an easier life and stay cooler for longer. You can deffo alter the aggressiveness of the power delivery using the app, setting different maps that you get then scroll through

Assuming Varg’s designers and test riders goal was to build an electric bike with comparable or better performance than a current ICE motocross bike. Even one that could compete in the same race merely on race performance that would be appealing to a large enough customer base. Then although I’ve not ridden one personally, it appears to be the real thing, ignoring the additional cost, limited running time per charge and the likely battery degradation over time. I suspect like EV cars, they are not for everyone or indeed practical for some of the increasingly popular forms of offroad sport like enduro and fast eddy time events. Some riders prefer the more visceral feeling you get with the noise and feeling of an ICE motorbike, compared to the whirling/whining soundtrack of a sewing machine or washing machine on a spin cycle you get with an electric bike. That tends to be down to past experience and the era you were brought up in or rode in, which is completely understandable. For the younger generation, particularly those coming from a MTB race background, the Varg has many advantages and an easier transition to competitive racing or just fun riding. There is no need to learn clutch control or changing gear, keeping the bike in the power band etc, although I suspect throttle control is still as if not more important. They are not hooked on the noise and smell that adds to the riding experience of a gas bike. I guess in the end its horses for courses in terms of which one is preferable for each rider/racer. I raced 2 stokes most of my life, but also raced 4 bangers and the former is better and preferable not just for nostalgia, although it plays a part, but there is also no denying that the 4 banger has some advantages and disadvantages. This seems to be quite a similar quandary with ICE and EV bikes, so you pays your money and makes your choice. The ever increasing bike prices is too great for either, which imo is the real elephant in the room in terms of the future of the sport, possibly even a bigger threat as noise has been to the loss of tracks over the years🤔🏁🏴🇬🇧

It you want it quicker turn up the hp , you’re the only person who I’ve seen who’s moaning about the performance, you shouldn’t need to change the gearing , stick to petrol mate you obviously don’t like electric bike, all the top riders seem to love it
@jonathanthorngate521422 күн бұрын
All the paid reviewers you mean? He can only get 16 minutes with the power reduced turn it up and it’s only going to get less.
@user-paullynch22 күн бұрын
@jonathanthorngate5214 if that’s the case they wouldn’t be able to sell many and I doubt that when I see hill and Evans on um they speak very highly of um, are you saying they’ve been paid to say that cause I’m cancelling my order
@anthony20822 күн бұрын
@user-paullynch We’re you trying to win the prize for the dumbest comment? Because so far you are leading. He was trying to do a like for like comparisonof the Varg against his new 250f. Hence why he set the power to a comparable level as 250f allowing for gearing and manual clutch, obviously it is not a full on comparable dyno test. Altering the gearing and using his modified suspension in the next test will provide an even better like for like comparison, ignoring the charging limitations, long term battery degradation and increased costs. I think he is well aware that he could increase the power level, in fact he did that in the previous test. The gearing alteration suggested by Varg is more about how the ‘electric power’, mainly torque, comes in rather than the peak power level.🤔 But hey you have a nice day now👍🏁🏴🇬🇧
@user-paullynch22 күн бұрын
@ why try be clever and change everything on it when you can set it to what you want ,like I say the top riders are well impressed and don’t fuck about with um like these do, oi and stop being so fucking rude, how’s that for a comment

It’s the ultimate vet bike!! I tried one last year. Biggest takeaway was its adjustability. Smooth the power out and ad engine braking for hard pack or turn it up for mud and sand. For 15min amca races it’s pretty spot on. And the other big plus is you can tame it right down and let your mate have a go safely. I would not let my non riding buddies have a go on me 450.

the bother with these will be wen you cant get insurance to put it in your van and keep it in your garage theres a fellow with an electric car cant get car insurance or house insurage

The Marmite bike is back out. 👌🏻What I take from this is they are a great all round bike. At the moment they are for people who want to keep the noise down, don’t want to service a gas bike, and are not interested in racing. I would like to know how they are dealing with the lack of noise in Arena cross? Last year people said it was hard to race against them as you could not tell where they are? Keep the video’s coming Jack.
