Amazing what the old hands drove all day back then. Oldest mixer I have driven is a S series International. Used to see them everywhere when I was a kid.

Started with a concrete company called maul then they change the name to tarmac started with a crane carrier half cab then upgraded to a paystar 5000 then went to CSR rinker had a Peterbilt there

I used to drive them in the early 1980s Denver Colorado. Mack 6×6 International 6×6 Ford 9000s. Brings back memories.

I remember the mixers with the pony motors before the live pto’s. A company down the road had old Brockway tandem axle and Dodge single axle trucks

@@JLaxton I did mechanic work on some mixer trucks like those I am a retired truck mechanic the contractors sure did get a lot of infrastructure built with that equipment of the time. They did not use computers and the bachers had to read mechanical scales and water meters and work hand levers for the material hoppers and they still managed to batch a lot of yards in a day.

@danhuttinger5040 I remember when it was tandem in the 70s - 80s. They had some pretty old trucks in the fleet back then. I collected most of these photos from a plant that auctioned of everything back in the 90s.
