Yes, in particular I (and some others, I imagine) would like to hear the reasoning of the vast majority of voters in Arizona who voted overwhelmingly (67%) against the Trump-facilitated abortion bans... and then proceeded to vote for the man who made them happen (53%). Please, explain how these opposing votes came from the same individuals.

They aren't women, they are trans women. They are different things and you'll never change that no matter what language you use to try to obfuscate it. I don't even think you can call yourself gay if you would date a trans woman, you're bisexual. They are still a male.

Cis is just a descriptive term that originated in the 1990s, so it’s not all that new; it’s just more used now because we’re having more open ended nuanced discussions about gender identity, and it’s all about context. Cis people aren’t just walking around calling themselves cis as a preferred label because they feel left out. The majority of the time, it’s used within the LGBTQ community or by activists, usually on social media, when we’re talking about issues trans people face, like transphobia, gender dysphoria, and trans rights. Sometimes it’s necessary to make that distinction in certain conversations; that’s why we have descriptive adjectives-to make things clearer and easier to understand. It doesn’t make anyone less than to point out the differences between people when we’re having necessary conversations. It’s not about what you want to be known as; it’s just about what we are. If anything, the word cis is a more inclusive distinction because saying "trans women" and "women," like the original TikTok creator did, doesn’t make sense; it makes trans women sound less than. Regardless of whether you’re a cis woman or a trans woman, we’re all still women-one isn’t more a woman than the other. These terms just make it easier to describe diversity within the same group of people

That was a great listen/watch! I have very fond memories of Tanya Hyde at the Alton Towers Hotel, thank you for the many laughs we had during our stays there. I think it’s testament to you that I still remember her and smile now 20 years on from her days as the ‘manager’. The opener of ‘welcome to the magical Alton Towers hotel! We call it magical because it’s a miracle anyone can afford to stay here’ always got a great laugh and set the tone for the show with the weary parents who were wondering why they had paid so much to stand in queues in the park all day. That bar was always packed and rocking during the shows, what a huge shame that Merlin saw fit to get rid of everyone. Their loss of course as you have gone on to do so much more. Thanks again Michael and BGC for the podcast. Happy Pride month all! ❤
