I could never get my Chinese Empi carb to idle right. Volume control screw so loose it didn't stay adjusted. Couldn't even stall the enginge out turned all the way in

to clean all gas tanks use muriatic acid and water /if tank is clean in 1/2 hour 50 /50 mix --or less //where gloves and mask//it removes rust

Why the aftermarket fuel filter? There is one in the tank, and one in the new pump. That's why VW never had one hanging over the distributor

show me the vales ? take out valves, and grand them with drill motor and stone and clean up like new .---/// take diesel fuel and flush out block and old oil use diesel to run clean out and repour diesel back through the block to come out clear , . you have good life for that engine .

I run the chinese version of the 48 IDA. After cleaning internally, they are as good on the street as my Italian Webers. My 2165, K8 big valve head motor runs high 12s on the street according to the Dragy. Cost was 275. for the pair on Ebay!
