This world must never forget the sacrifice of so many people! Military personnel and civilians from many countries took on perilous actions, with only 50/50 chance of survival! Thank you for your service! To this generation, I owe my freedom.🇺🇸

They paved over the cemetery for a parking lot! This was done during the war by our people! What a disgrace! It was located and they were disinterred by a civilian archaeological team. God bless them. They put the pentagon on notice! Finally those people had to act. How many more are on Tarawa?

Welcome home soldiers. Now for the rest of us...., do not let their sacrifices be in vain by not speaking out against the destruction of this country being done by the present administration. These men would be disgusted if they seen the lack of a spine in today's citizens. I can hear them now..., "I gave all, for this?".

Incredibly moving to see this; we over here in the UK would not be aware but for the internet. I read Edwin P hoyt's book " Storm Over The Gilberts " whilst still at school so know a little of the Tarawa landings, and there were some old Pacific war documentaries shown recently. To see these boys being brought home having been relieved at their last post stirs powerful emotions. Very well done to the Marines who found them

GOD BLESS THEM ALL!! HEROES ALL!! they gave their lives for us and those yet to be born so we could live free. Charlton Heston said the doorway to freedom is framed with crossed swords and muskets and is splattered with blood. Freedom is not free. Many a brave young man has fallen so we can be free.
