cool Idea but why not consider squeezing the bracket together or tim tightening the bolt to bring bracket together thus eliminating all the work you did
@kebin7607 ай бұрын
The old bushings only had a lip on one side. squeezing it harder would not fix the issue. My solution was to make it so there’s a bushing lip on both sides.

Any ideas on replacing a 07 Hummer H2 power steering cooler (kit) I’m in deep here
@kebin760 Жыл бұрын
Basically you just need to take one line off the pump and put it though the cooler. The other side of the cooler will go to where you removed that line. I’d use a low pressure line witch will be just hose clamped on.

How did the piston replacement go. Looking to do one on my truck.
@kebin760 Жыл бұрын
Replaced my #5 piston only. It was hard but I got it done. Didn’t remove my front axle. Just removed my oil pan and had to cut a hole on my oil splash guard to loosen the bolts on the bottom of the rod. Pulled out the top and reinstalled.

Poly is not a good material to use in that location. Rubber is used for a reason, a really good reason. When the wheel hits a large pothole/impact of any significance, it will deform the poly and it does not retain it's shape. Rubber gives and comes back to shape, poly will oval the hole and then there will be play/looseness in that bushing. I've tossed dozens in the trash when used on control arms. Motor/trans mounts are fine, but any bushing that has movement and takes a side loading like the control arm, they typically never last long.

Surprising they don't halve those bushings from the manufacturer. Do you have poly in the ucas? How much did it clean up ride quality, feel at the wheel, and handling. Nice tip there 👍
@kebin7602 жыл бұрын
Yes I have them in the upper ones. It definitely stiffness up the ride but it does make the trucks vibrations more apparent. I even did poly urethane motor mounts and body mounts. The truck definitely feels more like a tractor but I don’t mind. Lol

NO SHOE GOO!!!! It’s way too thick! It can be removed by using Goo Be Gone and slowly peeling it. Why didn’t you just use the proper adhesive for “refoaming” speakers?
@kebin7603 жыл бұрын
Haha my buddy uses shoe goo for everything! I used flexseal because that’s all I had at the time. And I usually don’t do research, I just try ideas.
@davethestalker3 жыл бұрын
@@kebin760 I used Shoe Goo on my Paradigm Monitor 90p for a couple of cat claw poke holes. It created more of a problem because the Goo was so thick and it would not spread into a thin layer. I’m needing like 1mm thin of a layer. The rubber surrounds (not foam) on my speakers are very soft and pliable. The Goo caused the drivers to not move evenly. Which can damage the voice coil. It took 2 hours and a few light applications of Goo Be Gone to break down and soften the 1 month cured Shoe Goo so I could peel it off. It took a little over 2hrs to VERY carefully peel off a 3 inch strip just to cover a couple of pin sided holes. I was just using my thumb to rub it back little by little. I’m thinking about using Flex Seal Liquid and applying a tiny drop with a toothpick into the holes. I’m still waiting for Flex Seal to email back about which product to use, how to apply it, and whether or not to thin it with a couple of drops of water. My Paradigm driver surrounds are VERY soft rubber and have a lot of excursion.

Hey, Working man. I have a 40E. I love it. I am not as handy as you. I do have some local mechanics who work on it for me when necessary. The stuff on your tractor mostly looks identical. I appreciate seeing what you are doing. Recently, while cutting dry fields, mine caught on fire. It was dry weed material mixed with grease etc. I put it out with water. I had insurance, but the dealer would not touch it to fix due to lack of parts available. My local mechanic guy is fixing it up now. I think we both need to find a source for used parts for this thing. My best guess is either Canada or the UK where they sold more of these. Where are you located? Thanks for your posts. Kurt Wolfgang in Maryland.

ohh man, that sucks! I use a old parts book then use that part number on google. Takes forever to actually find anything but it usually works. Also there’s usually a guy that has a junk yard of these tractors. I’m in Southern California.

Do you know what those machines weigh? I have the same tractor and am trying to decide if it's safe to haul on my car trailer. It's double axle, six lug like yours but maybe not as heavily built. Is that a safe load on your trailer? What do you pull the trailer with, and how does it do? Thanks for posting your videos!
@kebin7603 жыл бұрын
I have no idea what the tractor weights. I think my dads weighs 14k but his is the mf50ex much larger. So I think mine is around 10k. I pulled it just about 10 miles into town with my GMC Sierra 2500hd Duramax. The trailer I have is rated for 9k I think. Look on the tongue of the trailer it should say. Or crawl under the trailer and look at the axles it should say what they can hold.I took it really slow. It pulled it great.
