I don't know where you get your information, but an RTX 4090 is 3x faster than a 4060 in Passmark, a good measure of AI performance. I don't think a 4060 will scale to handle AI as Adobe releases more and more functionality.
@utopiacomputers5 күн бұрын
Thanks for getting in touch. Yes the RTX 4090 is much faster than the RTX 4060 in passmark. However, as we stated in the video, when it comes to Photoshop 2024 there is little to no need going above the RTX 4060. Photoshop 2025 comes with new 3D features that will of course require more powerful GPUs same goes with the AI features. We'll be testing this over the next few weeks and will be releasing a new and updated video next year. Stay tuned as we've got some interesting results with the CPUS!

Hello! Thank you so much for the kind words! Looking at the specs there are a few options that might increase your performance, most notably the CPU. The 9600X would be more than capable of handling UE5 with no issues however, you might find any CPU intensive plug-ins or parts of UE5 will slow down your system. The good news is you can always test with the 9600X and see how sell it handles your usecase, and if need be you can always upgrade to a faster chip later on down the line. Overall it's a great system to get your started especially all the other components. - Ryan

Hey All, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom DO NOT scale well with higher end hardware. 4060 vs 4090 is negligible due to the way the programs are coded. Unlike video editing, 3d render software, PS will not perform better, Also more ram =/= better performance. Most of the time PS will never touch 32GB. You usually want to make sure a lot of RAM is used rather than thinking 20% or RAM usage = good.. Point is, do not spend money on hardware that is not needed. I disagree with the pricing of this software based on price to performance and rather look at the features I will use in projects. So unless you are doing video editing, 3d rendering, you do not need that extra head room. even a 12900k (great 2nd hand prices) or a 5800x3d are good enough to run multiple layers etc. 13/14 gen have stability issues, skip 15th gen crap, and wait for what intel has to offer after, OR go for AMD. they are solid cpu's and future support is great. just my 2 cents if comparing performance. But go ahead and get the hardware if you want it.. not because it will perform better.
@utopiacomputers22 күн бұрын
Thanks for your comment! We're 100% on your side with this, overspending can easily be on when purchasing a PC for Photoshop or any photo editing software. As mentioned in the video the RTX 4060 is our go to with Photoshop and the RTX 4090 although great for applications like 3D rendering, Unreal Engine or gaming, it's very close to the performance of the RTX 4060. We do understand that some of our clients want the very best, and although might not be fully beneficial today, they would like to know it will last for years to come with new features coming every few months that require more performance. You're spot on with the CPUs too, be sure to stay tuned as we'll be updating our Photoshop video for 2025 with the release of AMD and Intels line of chips. The results are eye opening! Have a great day

@utopiacomputersАй бұрын
Thanks for getting in touch! Good Question, for around that budget we'd suggest AMDs 5900X. With regards to the Intel instability, so far all major motherboard vendors have BIOS updates to correct the issue. Why is your "Good" CPU a) The best gaming CPU on the market, and a monster of a CPU overall, and b) Only about %6 weaker than your "Better" CPU in single thread performance. It's also weird that your "Good" GPU is a 4060 which is an entry level 1080p card even when playing games. But your "Better" GPU is the best gaming GPU on the market. It looks like "Good" is entry level GPU plus monster CPU and "Better" is monster GPU and monster CPU.
@utopiacomputersАй бұрын
Thanks for your comment! You've highlighted these components as gaming components which yes some of your comments are accurate for games. However UE5 is not a game and requires either less or more power depending on what aspect of UE5 you'll be using and of course the complexity of the projects. I hope this helps 😀
@tiredcaffeineАй бұрын
@@utopiacomputers I understand. However, I did say "and a monster of a CPU overall" and "only about %6 weaker than the "Better" CPU in single thread performance". Those points still stand. Why is the lowest tier "Good" requires a behemoth of a CPU and the difference between "Good" and "Better" CPUs is so small? For GPUs, I don't think there is a problem with saying "gaming". UE5 is still going to do rendering just like a game does. Even if I'm wrong, the difference between a 4060 and 4090 in terms of raw performance, whether you are rendering with CUDA or Optix, or doing any media work or gaming, is sky high. It just doesn't make sense. I understand going for a Ada GPU even if it's weaker than the "Better" 4090, because it has double the VRAM. But why 4060 to 4090? Why not something like 4080 or maybe even a 4070 Super. Or why not an AMD card? Why not a 7900 XT or 7900 XTX with 20 and 24 GB (Same as 4090) respectively? I'm questioning these because I have a measly i3-12100F and it can still do work. I would expect your "Good" CPU to be something like i5-12600K or Ryzen 7 5800X.

Great question! AMD GPUs can offer great value for money, especially if you are looking for the most VRAM on a budget. From my perspective, Nvidia is just a very safe bet just now. An Nvidia GPU will run any 3D application you may need, driver updates are solid, and you will be covered should new AI features come out. Nvidia are also the most valuable company in the world as I write this, so I'd suggest that R&D development of their offering will only continue to improve with driver updates. But, as I said, for UE5, you will be fine with both AMD and Nvidia GPUs. Thanks for watching and for your excellent words of support! Cheers, Craig

The Intel Arc iGPU will be enough for basic tasks and standard edits, but you might hit performance limits with GPU-heavy features like advanced filters or very large files. Hello. I build PC specialty for UE 5.4 7000$ components. It’s not for game, just for visualisation and video production. My main SSD is Crucial T700 4Tb (gen5) I think to install Windows and UE5 on them. My question: should I install on 4Tb together with Windows or make partition and separate UE5? Second SSD is MP44 8Tb (gen4) Ram ddr5 96Gb 5600Mhz X670E Creator Ryzen 9 9750x Rtx 4090 1200W Arctic Liquid Freezer III
@denmako90112 ай бұрын
I choose 5600Mhz (not more) because of stability. I choose 96Gb (not 128) because 2 sticks are performed better then 4. Still not sure did my choice good. Money didn’t problem.
@utopiacomputers2 ай бұрын
Hey there! First off, you’ve got a seriously impressive build-definitely ready to tackle Unreal Engine 5.4 and video production. Now, let’s dive into your questions: 1. Install Windows and UE5 on the Same SSD or Partition? You can install both on the same SSD without partitioning, especially since your Crucial T700 4TB Gen5 SSD is incredibly fast. Unreal Engine will benefit from the full speed of the drive when loading assets. Partitioning won't really give you a performance boost in this case, so I’d recommend keeping it simple-just install everything on the SSD as is. 2. RAM Choice - 96GB at 5600MHz: Your reasoning for 96GB (2 sticks over 4) is spot on. 2 sticks will give you better stability and avoid potential memory controller strain, which is especially important with higher capacity RAM. And 5600MHz is a solid choice-it’s fast but keeps stability in check, especially for a Ryzen 9 7950X. Honestly, you’ve made good decisions here. If money’s no issue and you really need more RAM down the line, you could always upgrade later, but 96GB should more than handle your workload for now. Overall Thoughts: Your build is beastly, and it looks like you’ve made smart choices with stability in mind. No need to second-guess it-you’re ready to crush those visualizations and video production projects. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your build and reasoning with our little community! Cheers, Craig

Thanks for the awesome comment! It's a balance running the business and making videos, but we love it and hope we can keep growing so we can justify more time for the channel :) A 250GB SSD for your Photoshop scratch disk can be enough, depending on how large the files you work with are and the kind of projects you're handling. If you're working on average projects (e.g., images under 1GB), 250GB will be fine. However, if you’re working on very large, multi-layered PSD files or high-res RAW images, you might run into space limitations. The Cost of SSDs are so low now, so most can justify the £50-£60 for a reasonable 1TB SATA SSD - they key being not to start using the drive for other things as you will potentially reduce performance. Cheers, Craig

I totally get it-laptops can be super confusing, especially with all the different options and specs that seem similar but perform differently. Let me break it down for you. Intel and Nvidia for Stability: You’re on the right track sticking with Intel and Nvidia for Photoshop-those two are a solid combination for reliability and driver support, especially for creative applications like Adobe Photoshop. Laptop GPU vs. Desktop GPU: You’re spot on that laptop GPUs generally aren’t as powerful as their desktop counterparts. Even when you see a laptop labelled with an RTX 4060 or 4070, it won’t match the performance of the desktop version. That said, mid-range Nvidia GPUs (like the RTX 3060 or 4070 mobile versions) are still really good for Photoshop tasks, especially if you’re not doing intensive 3D work. What About Laptop CPUs? It’s the same story with CPUs. A laptop version of an Intel i7 or i9 won’t be as powerful as a desktop version because laptops need to manage heat and power differently. But don’t worry, modern laptop CPUs-like Intel 13th Gen i7s or even i5s-are plenty powerful for Photoshop. Just make sure you look for the H-series or P-series (like an i7-13700H) because they’re built for performance, while U-series chips are more focused on battery life and tend to be slower. Why Do Laptops with the Same CPU/GPU Perform Differently? Great question. It comes down to a few things: Cooling: Laptops with better cooling systems (more fans, heat pipes, etc.) can run their CPUs and GPUs at higher speeds for longer. This is called thermal throttling, where a laptop with poor cooling slows down under heavy load to avoid overheating. Power Delivery: Some laptops limit how much power can be fed to the CPU and GPU to conserve battery or stay within design limits. This can impact performance even if two laptops have the same specs. What Should You Look For? Here’s what I’d recommend for a mid-range laptop for Photoshop: Intel i7 (H-series) or Ryzen 7 (H-series) CPU. These offer a great balance of performance and efficiency. Nvidia RTX 3060/4060 or higher. This will give you the CUDA cores and power for fast filters, liquify, and future-proofing. At least 16 GB of RAM (32 GB if possible). Photoshop loves RAM, especially with big files or multiple layers. SSD (512 GB minimum, preferably 1TB). You’ll need fast storage for scratch disk space and to keep things snappy. Some good brands to consider: Dell, ASUS, MSI and if you are lucky enough to be in Europe...Utopia >> www.utopiacomputers.co.uk :) Final Thoughts: Stick with a brand that has a good cooling system and high build quality. Reviews will help here-check for ones that mention thermal performance. And if you can, get your hands on one with a colour-accurate display (ideally with 100% sRGB coverage) to make your Photoshop work easier on the eyes.

can I still be eligible for Dopple if I'm on Disability benefits
@utopiacomputers2 ай бұрын
Hello thanks for getting in touch! In Dopples FAQs, it mentions that 'You should be in regular full time or part time employment (with a minimum of 16 hours a week, unless you are retired or in receipt of certain benefits).' It's maybe an idea to speak with Dopple beforehand (they are really nice people) to see if you would qualify with your benefits - Ryan

Should I get a rtx 3070 or a rtx 4060, I found them for similar prices

The RTX 3070 is a more powerful GPU compared to the RTX 4060, however, if you're not in a hurry maybe wait a few months as NVIDIA will announce its new line-up which usually means the old gen cards will drop in price again

Thanks for the informative video! My budget allows me to choose between Intel Core i7-13700K and AMD Ryzen 9 7900X. I'm always leaning towards Intel in general but what would you pick (It will be paired with Nvidia RTX 3090 FE)? The PC will be used for rendering as well. Thanks!

Hi Anton! For 3DS Max the majority of tasks involve a single high frequency core meaning you're wanting to look at the boost clocks. The 13700K boosts to around 5.4Ghz whereas the 7900X boost to 5.6Ghz however, Intels architecture allows it to be more efficient over longer renders and with 4 more cores you'll fine the Intel CPU will be an overall better CPU for other tasks.

I have an RX 6700XT, and I am a beginner in UE5, so I was thinking of swapping my GPU with an RTX 4060, as Nvidia has good support for development software. I need suggestions.

The RTX 4060 like you said offers a broader support system compared to AMDs RX range however, if you're looking for a boost in performance then you may need to look at the RTX 4060Ti or above. Ohhh if you're not in a rush, the new NVIDIA range might be announced soon 👀
