UKWELI NI HUU- I started the group in 1984 as;THE BLACK ANGELS,with my cuzo Wachira, Njuguna came along later and like wachira entered my payroll.They were naive But i trained them into the great comedians and later left them when i got a job in the Bank.Thye name nyengese came from a zaire song i had composed ,the audience named us nyengeses and i was the lead nyegese------anybody else was a fake and imitators! These guys were good and very funny. Nothing wrong with their singing in Okuyo language. They were proud to be Okuyos and each person should be proud to be whatever they are, However we should work together as Kenyans. There is beauty in having a language of your own. I remember seeing them perform at the ASK show in the early 90's as a kid and my mom gave me 10 bob to give them when they came around and one of them said that when i got to class 2 i should go work for them because i'd have learnt all i needed. Feels like a lifetime ago

Huyo jamaa mweusi sana ambaye anazungumza katika sekunde ya 40. Ndiye alikuwa kiongozi wa kundi hilo.

It is sad the guy you see @00.40secs died through a road accident in Nairobi. He was famously known as Nyengese. His young brother took over and he was doing pretty well before disappearing from the seen due to Mungiki menace.
