I hope Canon R6 Mark III at last will be switching from outdated, decades old front-lit to BSI-CMOS sensors, if not I'm going back to Sony. At this point mirrorless camera makers should have been experimenting with much more efficient and sensitive SPAD, quantum dot and graphene enhanced CMOS sensors. Graphene sensors are x1000 more sensitive than current ones and can detect even deep thermal infrared spectrum so just imagine enormous possibilities

Nikon is renowned for its photography capabilities, but its video performance could be improved. A Sony cropped sensor A6700 performs comparably to the Nikon Z6ii.

it doesn't look like it's coming. It looks like Sony has packed it in. The FX6 doesn't even record 6k, no way am I paying over £5000 for a 4 year old camera that has so many quirks.

It would be neat if they did some of the following: Stronger gimbal More space around the gimbal Both of the above would aid when filters are attached. I’d love to see them come out with a ‘higher end’ model too…. Built in VND Maybe offer an anamorphic lens version That would be really neat.

I have both the A1 and A9III; the low light is essentially the same between the two, but the base iso on the A9III is an annoyance sometimes if you like fast primes in sunny conditions

@ not for video or if you use auto iso. ISO 125 is the same as 250 on the A9III anyways, as far as actual sensor sensitivity goes.

@@jamiesondean I find the Shadow recovery at ISO 125 is better than ISO 250. The shadow is much cleaner and looking at clothes or even faces when. Lifting that shadows.

Not only is the Nikon unit superior to the Canon. Its significantly cheaper. As is the glass. Lastly the sensor in the Nikon literally s**ts on the Canon. See dxo results for the numbers. So if you are already a tog, chances are youll stick with your existing stable due to glass, accessories etc but if youre a new tog looking to get your pro gear, Nikon is the way. Based purely on results and cost.

I disagree. If they sit on their laurels, someone else will launch a better competitor, and they will lose sales fast. Far better to keep developing your product & iterating the design, so when a competitor does emerge, you hopefully already have an answer launched or close to launch. DJI will have a team that developed the a pocket 3, you wouldn’t want to disband that team once you launched the product, and you are not going to pay them to sit around doing nothing. Far better to keep the team together & developing the product for the next generation product.

The A7iv is superior in its AF but the Nikon is not very fast behind. The downside of the A7iv are the inferior evf, rolling shutter as compared to the partial stacked sensor, pre trigger captures, and 6k video

As an x100v user, hybrid viewfinder on an M would be incredible - it would keep the traditional M feel but bring it into the 21st century (which is long overdue). Only once you've actually used one could you understand how nice it is. And maybe throw in a diopter while you're at it, and sort out the firmware to be less buggy on release and let it connect to a Mac wirelessly to get raw files..... then you might have a camera worthy of the Leica name, rather than just trading on it.
