Omg this is just freaking brilliant and bloody funny as hell especially the urns as the end. And Sheldon's reading I'm with stupid.

Guys Guys I'm going to give you the answer The movie was never about the ark, it was about the relationship of Indy with Marion Just as the third film was never about the holy grail, it was about his relationship with his father.

If you watch it closely indy was being tailed by a nazi spy and the only reason they even knew where Marion was, was only because indy found her.

I still don’t buy it. Remember, Indy and Sallah take the medallion to the Imam to decipher the medallion and learn where the Ark is located. Had the Nazis retrieved it in Nepal because Indy didn’t show up, there’s no guarantee the Nazis, even with the help of Belloq, are able to decipher the medallion or even end up properly using the staff correctly.

This is my brother's take on the Indy films after I showed him this clip: "It's about the journey and the adventure, not the results. That's why, in the end, Indy never really ends up with what he's looking for."

Sometimes life is just fighting against the wind and things turn out one way regardless. You can try and not make any difference, same with heros. If you look at it that way, the movie is very relevant 🤣

Fun fact my cousin and uncle both work on costumes and my uncle had an argument with Harrison Ford over the belt during the actual filming of scenes in one of the Indiana jones movies, something was a tiny bit out with it or not to his liking and Harrison was whinging and arguing with him for 20 minutes about it. My cousin also has lots of inside information about new up and coming movies and he did about the latest star wars movies and often tells me little bits he is not supposed to let anybody know, he also sends pictures of him having coffee and chats with all sorts of stars, like its normal but I guess it is for him. There is lots more, actually not so fun facts for you but hey, they are for me lol Anyway as far as Sheldon goes I only have one thing to say Buddy, you're a boy, make a big noise Playing in the street, gonna be a big man someday You got mud on your face, you big disgrace Kicking your can all over the place!!!!!!!!!!

Marion would be dead. There.
@warden239811 күн бұрын
So I was thinking, Indy is somewhat relevant, if Indy hadn’t been their yeah the nazi’s would have all died, but more nazi would have shown up, seen the corpse and figure out the ark was really dangerous. Afterward they’d probably try to creat a super weapon with it and use it to win ww2, but Indy was there, survived and hid the ark away before anymore nazi would have shown up.

To the people bummed about this, does it matter? I consider it more of rolling spectacle show, where Indy just happens to be the viewpoint. I dont care that he doesnt save the world. 🤷♂️

Indiana was in the movie to save the girl. Even Indi, didn’t know that The ark was really secondary to the real plot. Saving his old colleges daughter I’m surprised that nobody saw that

Had the Nazi's succeeded with their original plan of presenting it to the Fuhrer in Berlin, it would have been opened and killed Hitler and many of his top henchmen! Picture Hitler's face melting, and then his moustache left behind in a puddle of face goo!

Eh, Indiana Jones isn't some literary masterpiece, one you read for the subtelty and subtext. Don't overthink action movies and they won't be ruined.

The problem is that Amy doesn't understand that you can't define a "story" by its "outcome".

Indy being there may have prevented the Nazis (including Hitler himself) from being destroyed by the very thing they sought. The Nazis died from opening the Ark but I’m sure other Nazis in Berlin knew about what they were doing and where. After a duration of time of radio silence, other Nazis would’ve arrived to find the area deserted and could’ve opened the Ark themselves and so on. Thus creating a cycle of curiosity killing the Nazi cats that could’ve ended WWII
@Sai465115 күн бұрын
I haven't seen the movie nor will I probably ever watch the movie, but if the goal of Indy was to just "kill the Nazi's" then sure you could argue it didn't matter because the arc would have killed them anyways, but the fact that he didn't know the arc would have killed them and tried to stop them kind of proves that he is a hero. And, if the argument is that he has no impact, Howard just cited 2 examples where he did have an impact to the story and events would have turned out differently if he wasn't there

Technically speaking, there's no indication the Nazi's would have found Marion to acquire the medallion. Therefore, Indy leading them to Marion was necessary for them to acquire the medallion.

Not being funny but couldn't this technically go for most of the Indiana Jones movies like kind of like how Sheldon explained this one how about with the last crusade, the cup would have still passed the great seal and it would have fallen, then the crystal skull they would have eventually found the UFO and died at the end and even in the dial of destiny, when they went back in time they would have still crashed
@bUdDh1stPsYcHo17 күн бұрын
What makes this funnier is the episode subplot with the girls trying to figure out what's so good about being a grown up while these two live their best adult lives.
