I did this a couple years ago and we had to use an angle grinder to shave the frame so that the bumper would fit. It’s held up really well.

I liked your video. I just put those Ace Engineering Rock Sliders on my Jeep JK 2DR. I did a lot of research on them and from your video I can see they are solid and trustworthy. You also got some great armor on the underside. I agree; you got to prepare for where you end up - not where you planned to go. Keep it up and look forward to some more off road videos.

Seems like you got a bad set. Sticks out a half inch and the bolt holes are a half inch off.

Nice video! 👍 I just went thru some trails in Marble Falls, TX that I shouldn’t have been on as well. I dented my new sliders (originals are still new tho) and bent my rear bumper. Oh well, I planed on getting a better rear bumper anyways. I dented up some of my under armor as well. I will be investing in the under upgrades you javelin just shown! You definitely convinced me that I need them… I also will be looking into bigger / taller tires and see if there are any lifts out there for the Mojave’s that don’t replace the nice Fox shocks already on it. But again, thanks for the info ! And nice Gladiator! 👍✌️

Interesting that it didn't just come with the same bumper as the Rubicon. Sometimes these manufacturers make no sense. You probably should have gone with a Motobilt or Fabfours bumper.

Were the Ace Sliders hard to install? Bolts hard to get out?

Not hard, but stressful. I had read a lot about broken body bolts before I tried the install. They actually came out easily on mine, but were difficult to send back in.

@@JurassicMojave It depends on the light and who Im talking too. Some call it orange some call it yellow. I think of it as dark yellow. I like it much better than HellaYella they had a couple years ago. That was too pale.

I live in Ohio and had to go to Virginia to pick up my Nacho Gladiator. I got a Sport S so I could modify it. The only thing I really wanted was the cold weather group, hardtop, and 7-inch screen. Been changing everything else since. It's so fun to work on and drive. Good luck with your search.

That's painful to watch... I definitely won't be doing any of those trails like Diehard with my Gladiator...for me, it'll be mostly forest/fire/service roads and mountain passes/trails rated easy/moderate (at most). For sure nothing rated difficult/extreme. The only "extreme" situation I'll likely find myself is when I'm out & about and caught in one of Colorado's white-out/blizzard snow storms -- and my Gladiator is one of the BEST vehicles to be in for that, and one most likely to get me home (especially with its Falken Wildpeak A/T3W tires). ;-) Don't know what the "Die Hard" trail was rated as (but probably higher than I'd want to drive), but all that scraping/noise wouldn't be "fun" for me AT ALL. Prefer more "leisurely" off-road drives and less "self-inflicted" wear & tear on my vehicle. So no rock-gardens for me, thanks... And given the current/ongoing automotive industry supply/production-delay issues at their factories -- and that likely causing a hefty price-increases for 2022 models (IF they come out on time) -- I MAY be keeping my Gladiator longer than I first thought. Happy Mojave-ing, -- BR

Agreed: I was not having fun on that trail. Our group just ended up there and tried to push through.
@billredding2000

@@JurassicMojave Glad you DID get through though! And, at least the group wasn't doing Black Bear Pass (Colorado)...that's one pass *I* won't be doing (will only do the first half, not the last (and MORE scary) half down into Telluride. I'm not a member of any group so I'll be "trailing" alone...will try to stay out of trouble -- AND avoiding any trail-damage to my Gladiator. ;-) Happy Trials, -- BR
