Gavaskar played against Dennis Lillee in 9x Test's, including the 1971/72 Rest of The World XI Test's. He only passed 50 once, scoring 70, before Lillee dismissed him. Lillee also dismissed him for a 1st & 5th ball duck. Lillee dismissed SG 6x's. DK rated SG as medium quality, rating Viswanath as the best Indian batsman he bowled to.

SACHIN COVER DRIVE IS A TAD SUPERIOR TO GAVASKAR AND ALSO SUPERB HOOKER N PULLER BETTER THAN SUNNY. LATER TENDULKAR WAS LIKE TIGHT GAVASKAR AND EARLIER TENDULKAR WAS MORE LIKE VIV. WHAT ABOUT VIRU? That makes me very happy- Lillee was magnificent and Majid my sporting hero as a boy. My grandad taught his dad Indian history and he played for my birth county Glamorgan in Wales (as did Javed and Viv Richards). He was superb against pace, such an elegant stroke-maker. He would have been a great all-rounder but he changed his bowling to slower as there were questions over his action. Last week i dreamed he and Zaheer had returned to test cricket and were sharing a partnership of over 300.
