The point made at 10:26 is, I would think, essential to all artists and poets. They want to express in a unique way something that is "the same about me as everybody else".

Hi from rural Japan. Did you have any connection with Bernard leach/St. Ives, or Japanese potters? Thank you.

Hello from rural Japan. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and imagery with us. I agree that landscape is most important to us potters-- after all, it's where the clay comes from... ; )

This is wonderful. I've thrown knobs on lids and such, but the thought of throwing the foot on larger pieces never occurred to me. I don't suppose you would be willing to make more videos on your work? The philosophy you take to the clay is just wonderful

I wonder if he first fires the clay once to make bisque, and then glazes it followed by a second firing?

I will definitely try the foot ring, though at this stage on a wee bit smaller pot. Beautiful result! Was the finished bowl the one you were working on in this video, or do my eyes deceive me? Thanks for sharing.

This is a beautiful film of your process. I'm in Arizona, USA and find watching the processes of potters in the UK to be mesmerizing. It's inspiring to me, as a potter, to watch the daily connection with the clay, the studio, and the home. Thank you for posting!

Lora, have you seen the video by the Native American potters from Arizona part of it is why we do what we do, I found it to be very inspiritional.
