If you are painting fences all day when would you apply for a job? I just retrained and switched careers... It took hours and hours of filling out applications, writing cover letters, technical prep etc... And now i have a job 🎉🎉 but i don't know that I would have had time to apply or got through the technical tests (thanks to prepping like mad) if i was busy painting fences for less than minimum wage...the job i now have will pay taxes towards the council. It's easy to think people on benefits are doing nothing but I assure you most people want to get a job and are doing everything they can to get one. Also you don't get 100+ quid a week on job seekers, you get 70 quid a week, anyone "living" on that is already desperate to get a job and get paid I assure you.
