To all concerned parents and educators: somewhere towards the end, past the 3:00 mark, Andrew unwittingly offers yet another instance of his son increasing HIS OWN reading developments by using the “Zelda” game to teach themselves greater reading skills. This isn’t to say that all video games do this - it seems to be mostly just ZELDA, but Zelda DOES seem to really help with this. 👍👍

Have bought MDR7506 more than ten years ago as they were recommended everywhere. I struggled for years with my low end, could not understand how to get it right. Also I had ear fatigue because of harshness. So I bought a pair of ATH m50 and oh my god, I could now hear the oomph of my hiphop kicks with no problems, and suddenly I could easily get mixes that translated well on other systems. My MDR7506 are in a drawer since :)

I felt weird for being use to 7506s. I even bought expensive Senheiser brand but nope. I know how my mix is gonna sound when I listen through them before bounce

tried to find it in the comments but didnt see anything...anyone know what band and producer he is talking about blowing up a pair of ns10 speakers every day at 2:57:50? not trying to find out who it is to throw shade at them. Obviously whoever the producer is, their process is working! Just want to know what the album and producer was so I can try to understand better what Jack was called in for to fix for them.

@rome818014 күн бұрын
Three years after first watching this, this is still one of my favorite videos on the internet. There are so many good arguments in favor of headphones: 1) Consistency. No matter where you are, your headphones will sound the same. 2) Portability 3) Price. A lot of people can't afford the thousands of dollars of acoustic treatment it takes to get the best out of studio monitors. 4) The ability to mix at all hours without disturbing anyone 5) Familiarity. Like a lot of people I know, I do the majority of my casual music listening in headphones. So why wouldn't I mix using the listening system I'm most used to hearing? 6) It's closer to the experience of the average listener. Most people aren't sitting down in front of a pair of speakers. They're listening on earbuds at the gym. Look, of course there are issues unique to mixing in headphones. But are they really any more limiting than the issues caused by monitors in a room? No matter how well treated your room is, you're going to have dips and bumps to take into account. And there are certain things that are much harder to hear on monitors. Headphones offer a more granular, detail-oriented experience. They are better than monitors for noticing clicks and pops. They're better for making small adjustments to things like volume or reverb. You don't get the same crosstalk between the left and right channels, but so what? I've never had the lack of crosstalk cause a real problem. And no one is saying you can't also check your mix on speakers later. I've yet to hear a coherent argument for why headphones don't work. But yet, people are still making that claim despite many industry people like Andrew Scheps offering working proof that it's nonsense.

😡😡 As Andrew talks about at length in another of his interviews, [Tim Palmer Interview. Very end of Q&A] the music video that Steve has the line in from the movie Jumpin’ Jack Flash has been completely scrubbed from the American Internet, in favor of a “remastered and upscaled” version. And while the new version still starts with a straight on shot of Steve’s face as he sits at the console next to Keith, the full preceding minute with his dialog has been completely snipped OFF, and this includes the entire MUSICAL INTRO that was played by the band! I remember seeing the original music video with all the dialog just as Steve describes it. …but good luck finding it on the North American Internet. Like TONS of other music, much of it phenomenal, it has just…vanished. …in favor of something “new and improved”…that quite often is not. 👎👎

Shame on David Bendeth for such a demeaning (racist?) and uninformed comment at 1H:07’ trying to put the girls down for not agreeing with all his choices. Mariachi bands do not use tambourines nor shakers - have never and will never use tambourines nor shakers! You can see that they had to work together for weeks under COVID conditions, and of course it must have been a real test of everyone’s patience and good will. That comment was a spill over from the frustrations of having had to spend many days locked in together under the demands of the record label… but David Bendeth needs to upgrade his cultural perceptions.

This is a great studio 4 sure, we recorded some demos in 2010, I need to go back. (If y'all need a solid drummer, call me! LOL) It's truly cool watching and listening to John and his passion for sound. I remember leaving a CD of one of my songs for Martina, it was a long shot but John kept in touch and said they like the song but it was not a fit. Really a cool experience, here is a video I did this year as a tribute to our singer Mike. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZbIcoV-obV1Z6s
