In some countries, there is only one word to mean that something is worked together, or meshes; or in medical speak, mends, as when a bone knits together, it comes together, it heals together, it means it meshes, it becomes one, same as in to mend or knit a friendship😊 back together... I could go on, but I think you get the point. My granny used to tediously work a mesh patchwork over the knees of the men and boys pants when she was a sharecroppers wife. 😊 She would say "I knit together that knee again, and I hope you can walk better now", 😂and then she'd laugh with a hee -hee-hee at her clever joke😂. He did have a bad knee, you see, and the knees of his pants were bad too, so.... When I grew to know all of the different meanings of the word knit and the ways that you can use them as simile or metaphor, I look back on her and think she was pure comedic genius, for all of her clever witticisms.
