I don't think it's hyperbole to say that if the standard for measurement is the quality of the bowling, it might well be the greatest episode of PRODIGY ever. I can't wait to get it out for everyone to see it.

I have 9 real 300 games but only 1 no-tap, I never found it to be easy. Great Job! Tracy

I would attribute that to the fact that you bowl regular games of bowling a heck of a lot more often than you bowl no tap. The total number of no tap games you’ve bowled in your life probably equals only a small fraction of all the games you’ve bowled. So that’s the reason for the discrepancy. That said, there is a different strategy that I recommend for bowling no tap that I probably wouldn’t recommend if you’re bowling regular bowling. When bowling no tap, take the strongest ball you’ve got, the one that reads the earliest, and when you throw it, just throw it real relaxed, and make no attempt to hit it with your fingers when you release it. The object here is not necessarily to give it all the revs and power you can muster, but rather, just get it off your hand real relaxed with as much accuracy as you can get. Just hit the pocket. Do that and you’ll almost always get 9. You might leave a bunch of flat 10s. But you don’t care, because all you need is 9. I had a pretty good record bowling in nine pin no tap events, and I believe the reason why is because I stumbled on to that strategy. Once I started using it, I could usually count on being in contention.

Thanks for the Christmas bowling gift. It gives me something good to watch while I digest my dinner and hide from the hubbub in the family room. Interesting that you would mention lane courtesy. I bowl in a couple of sport/scratch leagues where two lanes is the rule, and house shot league with one lane courtesy. It can be disconcerting. I know, in theory, the one lane rule shouldn't affect my concentration (that's my responsibility), but it occasionally does.
@ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour 13 күн бұрын
I don't know if this is still true today, but there was a time that if you violated the "one pair on both sides" lane courtesy rule in the PBA, you'd get fined. Once you get used to bowling with one pair courtesy on both sides, bowling with just one lane courtesy will ALWAYS be distracting.

1:02:57 I have a pretty terrible problem that began in high school. Ever since I started learning to throw with more hook,….I’ve never really gotten comfortable adjusting to go straighter for spares. Looking back I probably should’ve gotten a spare ball and learned to do it that way. But it’s a lot like my relationship with the guitar. I’d rather have one guitar that can get a bunch of different sounds than to keep having to switch. And I can be a stubborn guy. But it just doesn’t work that way.
@ProdigyBowlersTour
@ProdigyBowlersTour Ай бұрын
Well, you've kind of answered your own question. It doesn't work that way. If you want to throw it straight at spares, the easiest way is to get a spare ball drilled just like the one(s) you throw for strikes. One thing's certain: Bowling balls are not like guitars. Having just one seems like a good idea, but you would never think it's a good idea to play a round of golf with just one golf club. It doesn't work that way. Either get a spare ball or spend some time practicing, learning to throw the ball straight by coming up the back of the ball, or allowing your wrist to break back so you don't impart much lift. Nowadays, I'm starting to see more and more kids learn to throw a backup, which can be a mighty handy trick to have in your bag of tricks. But all these things require practice to master.

@@ProdigyBowlersTour The guitar is actually more similar than you might realize. Especially for studio players. The one that make hit songs for a living. They’ll take like 5 to 10 different guitars to every session they do for the day and change depending on what sound they need. And if you put a dog whistle on the track, they can hear it. But yeah. Both things take loads of practice…and I suppose the right equipment for everyone besides Norm Duke.
